Part 2 of my February 2024 D&B Mix, starting with the same track Part 1 ends with, they are meant to be played back to back. Part 2 has some really weird funky new tunes, crunchy steppers, a few classics, deep rollers and the occasional vocal tune. So much great music out right now! This is similar to the set I played last week opening for Rohaan X Craze, so it gets heavy but never too big. February 2024 D&B Mix (Part 2)

Smooth N Groove Records welcomes Dave Shichman to the fold with his debut release on the imprint. Based out of New York City, USA. For the the past 20 plus years Dave has established deep roots at the forefront of the U.S, D&B scene and is the founder, proprietor of the multi agency, Driven AM. Additionally, Dave has seen multiple releases on some of the scenes hottest labels including Flight Pattern, Fokuz Recordings, Formation and Soul Deep to name a few.

Crystals’ EP features music by Driven AM Recordings co-owner Mixmaster Doc as well as the Driven AM debut of Brazilian producer nCamargo!  Mixmaster Doc returns with his usual deep and haunting embrace of Drum and Bass.  ‘Crystal’ is a clean, synth driven song that takes an unexpected turn at the drop, expanding inward and becoming darker.  Creeping soundscapes and extreme low ends, this song will be appreciated by listeners and DJ’s alike and is what Mixmaster Doc is known for.  Driven AM Recording’s first remix is by a producer we respect very much for his original sound and his delicate balance of lush melodies, intensity percussion and low end.  nCamargo takes Mixmaster Doc’s ‘Jealousy’ on a deep, dark dancefloor ride that will be appreciated by fans of liquid DnB as well as harder, darker styles, nCamargo’s production balances the line between the 2 perfectly.  He respected Mixmaster Doc’s fantastic original by leaving in recognizable elements as he transforms them into his own vision.
