Purveyors of heady electronic music, The Russ Liquid Test continue to impress with the first single from their forthcoming EP. Titled “Fanghorn”, it’s a psychedelic romp grounded in a blend of gritty bass wobbles and funky guitar work, all recorded at Neutral Sound Studios in New Orleans. 

According to the group, “The meat and potatoes of ‘Fanghorn’ came from Russell Scott and Deven Trusclair.  When they brought the track to Andrew Block, he heard it in a different way than what Russ and Devon were hearing it. Block took the track and added some really awesome guitar layers that really tied the whole thing together.” As for how the title came to be, it’s rather simple: “Whenever we start a new song, I always save my session before I get started. I generally just put the first thing that comes into my mind and this time just happened to be ‘Fanghorn.’ No reasoning behind it at all, just ‘Fanghorn.’”

The Russ Liquid Test are still riding high off the release of their 2017 EP, World Gone Crazy, a record that received acclaim from outlets like Dancing Astronaut who proclaimed “their versatility knows no generic bounds.”
