This mix is for kids! 
I wanted to propose 80 minutes of deejaying/digging/vinyl culture for the eardrums of the little ones. There are really few coherent mixtapes/music compilation aimed at belonging to children, I wish I'll fill this gap with hooky melodies and round bass lines. You will find three different minimix spanning various moods and phases of life.
"Sleeping Beauty" is a journey into relaxing and quiet sounds. Soft soul tunes and abstract hip-hop beats helps to awake or fall aslpeed in just the perfect mindset for the day/night.
"Baby Butt Shaker" is about dancing, sweating your little belly, crawling, head banging, you name it. From Disco to tropical electronic tunes, just stand up and dance!
"The World Is yours" is a journey around the globe. The listening time is made for discovering new cultures, geographical spaces, foreign smiles through music. When growing up, brazilian music, Persian pop, Yugoslavian funk won't sound alien and will be part of the kid's identity.
Enjoy, 100% vinyl as usual and grown-up can listen to it as well!

Ce mix est pour les enfants! J'ai voulu proposer 80 minutes de culture musicale basée sur le digging et les vinyles pour vos petits et un jeune public en général. Il y'a vraiment peu de compilations musicales cohérentes destinées aux enfants, j'ai voulu remplir cet espace avec des petites mélodies entêtantes et des lignes de basse ronflantes. Trois minimix sont proposés pour trois moments de vie particulier.
"Sleeping beauty" est un voyage calme et relaxant. Avec des sons soul tout doux et de l'abstract hip-hop ethéré, ce minimix est fait pour ouvrir ou fermer les yeux, et commencer ou cloturer la journée dans le parfait état d'esprit.
"Baby Butt Shaker" est fait pour danser, bouger les popotins, gigoter par terre, se tordre les orteils. De la disco à la musique éléctronique tropicale, un seule mot d'ordre,bouge ton petit corps.
"The World is yours" est un voyage autour de la terre. Parceque l'ouveerture culturelle n'a pas de prix et qu'il n'est jamais trop tot pour l'apprendre par la musique. De la pop iranienne au funk yougoslave en passant par la Cumbia, le monde lui appartiendra dès son plus jeune age. 
Comme d'habitude 100% vinyls, les plus grands peuvent écouter aussi!

Sleeping Beauty

After many many hours of spinning records together at late nite gigs, Waxist Selecta and Dr Miette joined their efforts to elaborate this soul mixtape. Soul music has always been a musical link between the two DJs : they share a love for well-orchestred violins, languorous bass, suave voices and more globally a music coming from both heart and guts. 
Dr Miette sent his first 15 min set to Waxist who listened, answered with 15 another minutes, and the back to back went on. Starting with deep-fried soul, drum-break based, the mixtape shifts towards hip-hopish-funkish soul and ends with cross over, modern soul inspired tunes. Oh yes and we played a French one, enjoy your listening, do not listen on laptop speakers please. As usual vinyls only, almost all original (at least for Waxist!). Special shout-outs to DJ Goodka who triggered the meeting of the two DJs in his deeply-regretted record shop.

Après de longues heures à tourner des vinyles ensembles sur de beaux dancefloors tard le soir, Dr Miette et Waxist Selecta se sont retrouvés pour une mixtape collaborative basée sur la soul music. Ce genre a toujours été un trait de réunion musical entre les deux Djs, ils partagent un amour pour les violons, des basses langoureuses, des voix suaves, bref une musique qui vient du cœur et des tripes.
Dr Miette a envoyé son premier set de 15 minutes à Waxist, qui lui a répondu et ainsi de suite. La mixtape commence avec de la soul lente, remplie de drums breaks, évolue vers un stlye davantage hip hop, funky et finit en cross-over modern soul, plus un petit bonus bien français !
Grosse dédicade à DJ Goodka, son shop a été le lieu de notre rencontre et le début de notre collaboration musicale.

Dr Miette lives in Brussels & hosts the "Soul Remedy" radio show on Comala Radio. He spins groovy & eclectic records from various corners of the world since 2007. He has been raised and educated in deejaying culture following the old-school way by local groove heroes around Grenoble (Drakkar) and Lyon (Fée Verte, Absinthe, Maison M). Since then, he rocked dancefloors in Montreal (Bleury/24hofVinyl/Village Pied du Courant...), Lille (Zebulon, St Sauver, Maison Folie...), Brussels (Strictly Niceness) or Göteborg (Nefertiti Jazz club).
