A relative newcomer to the progressive and melodic house scene, Blanka Barbara makes her Particles debut with the twin-track "Amabie". Polish born but London based, Blanka has already carved out a growing reputation with a slew of releases on the likes of Duenia, Mango Alley and her own Rabbit Records. As comfortable behind the decks as she is making music, her monthly "BBHour" on Point Blank Radio and "BBBoiler Welcomes" on Data Transmission Radio, have afforded her the opportunity to create a new platform to showcase her growing skillset as DJ, interviewer and producer. Blanka Barbara's opening salvo on Particles finds "Amabie" a driving gem, fuelled by rolling bassline groove and heavy beat. Referencing a mythical Japanese mermaid, searing melodic flourishes sit across the mid-range as they cut through the mix with laser precision. Textured pads add to the atmosphere as a stripped back breakdown paves the way for a club-friendly second half where rhythm and melody combine to powerful effect. "The Black Lagoon" continues the rich melodic narrative as a filtered motif wends its way across the 8-minute piece. Anchored by deep, resonant beat and off-beat percussion, a seismic bassline adds weight aplenty in an evolving, multi-faceted soundscape track of pure emotion that rises from subterranean depths to a paradise from whence no one can return.

Juan Deminicis is no stranger to the Proton Music catalogue. A regular since 2012 with a quarter-century of remix and original production material, the Argentinean has sparkled with such celebrated releases as 2013's "Behind the Sun", 2019's "Life on the Moon", 2020's "Synchronicity" and July 2021's "Water /Rebellion". A clutch of remixes for GMJ, Michael A and Mark Slee have shone a spotlight on another side of Juan's production talent as he returns to remix Blanka Barbara. Taking on "The Black Lagoon", a trademark rolling groove and deep luscious soundscape filters to the fore as familiar melodies from the original flow across the stereo spectrum. A glorious syncopation of rhythm and melody follows before a new cadence opens up in the second half to mesmerising club-friendly glory as white-noise effects and sub bass complete the picture.

Another artist with a long Proton Music history is Michael A. Prolific and talented, the Belarusian's work has seen almost a half-century of credits grace the label, not least in a raft of original EPs that began with 2017's "Bright Hope" and have since included another 5 original releases. September 2020 saw the beginning of a new chapter as the "Fantasy" series took shape, now about to enter its third instalment. Remixes for James Warren, James Monro and Pole Folder have also lit up the Michael A portfolio as he now remixes "Amabie" with typical aplomb. A rich bassline and shaker-driven percussive line create an immediate groove while a new chord progression and familiar elements from the original create a stunning new vibe. The scorching lead line from the original adds to the sonic collage at the mid-point as the second half explodes in a striking combination of rhythmic force and melodic character.

Ultraverse - Deja Vu [Balkan Connection South America]

The latest release from Clubsonica Records finds Yudi Watanabe, Andre Moret and L Georges presenting their first ever collaborations. Based in Brazil and firmly entrenched in their country's progressive music scene; Yudi, Andre and L Georges have all achieved measurable success in their respective careers. A collective discography showcases standout releases via Balkan Connection, Droid9, Mango Alley and Nature Rec. Also well regarded amongst the world's electronic music tastemakers, the Brazilian artists have earned play and support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Now joining forces for the first time, Yudi Watanabe, Andre Moret and L Georges continue what has been a great year with their Clubsonica debut 'Mizar | Crossing Galaxies', alongside a remix from Nōpi.

Beginning with 'Mizar' there is an immediate sense of how strong the creative synergy between these three Brazilian talents is. Featuring a smooth progressive narrative; Yudi, Andre and L Georges craft a foundation of warm beats, buoyant rhythms and electric effects. Its robust low end is full of character and shape, positively charged and perfectly playing off the trio's arpeggiated rhythms. The first of two breaks serves to reset the groove and introduce waves of melodic fragments which add colour, depth and emotion as the first act reaches a gentle crest. Coming to full fruition during the second break, tasteful modulation marries with placid pads for reflective moments as the thumping groove drops for a smooth finale. The companion piece 'Crossing Galaxies' follows a similar sonic aesthetic with its smooth energy and radiant atmospheres. Low slung tones power the spacious groove, while interwoven arps add a quirky rhythmic flair leading into the break. Tense and hypnotic in equal measure, the centrepiece evolves through colourful modulation and atmospheric phrasing, eventually reaching a gentle apex and paving the way for cosmic conclusion.

The release concludes with Nōpi making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Crossing Galaxies'. Having first appeared in March of 2019, Nōpi has enjoyed a meteoric rise through the organic house underground. In just two short years the Ukrainian artist has found a home on All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Do Not Sit On The Furniture, Sound Avenue and TRYBESof. Now at just 25 years old he sits as one of the Ukraine's most talented musical exports. Continuing what has been a breakout year, Nōpi adds Clubsonica to his resume with a gorgeous rendition of 'Crossing Galaxies'. The Ukrainian's creative prowess beams brightly once again, as he expands on the original narrative with rich organic qualities and additional vocal elements. A mystical sense emanates through the smoky atmospheres and arcane arps, all perfectly juxtaposed with unconventional chord changes and a warm, rolling groove which underpins the track and translates its spiritual message to the dance floor. A stunning rendition from Nopi which rounds out a must-have collaborative project from Yudi Watanabe, Andre Moret and L Georges.

Emerging from the rich seam of Polish underground dance talent, Rafa'EL returns to Particles with "Floating Moments". Remixes come from iconic Latvian and Australian artists.

Over a decade spent "developing and polishing his musical sense" has seen Rafael Ligienza carve out a sizeable niche with his Rafa'EL moniker. A renowned DJ showcased via his monthly "Infusion" show on Proton Radio, the Polish artist can boast over a double century of production credits to his name for some of the finest modern imprints including: Afterglow, ICONYC and Balkan Connection. A debut on Particles in August 2015 saw a collaboration with fellow countryman, Tuxedo, before his "Twin Flames" EP hit the stores in June 2018. Returning with a brand-new original track, "Floating Moments" is chock-full of percussive energy and subterranean bass prowess. Developing elegantly, melodic motifs drift subtly in and out of tune, reaching their pinnacle at the stripped back breakdown. Hitting its stride again in the second half, rhythm, bassline and melody combine to mesmerising effect.

Latvian duo, Blood Groove and Kikis, need little introduction to the Particles faithful. Able to point to over 500 production credits across a plethora of high-profile labels, the pair have been regulars on the likes of Spring Tube and Silk Music. Indeed, the latter saw the release of a notable highlight in 2014's "Wonderland" album. Finding their way onto Particles in 2015, Blood Groove and Kikis have showcased their remix skills in abundance, further enhanced with a typically impressive reworking of "Floating Moments". Taking melodic elements from the original, the duo have crafted a swathe of new phrases and additional production material that takes Rafa'EL's work in intriguing new directions. Encased in a crisp rhythmic shell, the remix wax and wanes in effortless fashion building into a sonic extravaganza in the second half that cleverly captures world music flavours.

An artist with renowned DJ credentials that have seen him perform across his native Australia while also bringing some of the dance industry's biggest names to his Queensland home, Rich Curtis continues to operate at the vanguard of the underground. An accomplished musician, Curtis has seen his production work hit the catalogues of such celebrated imprints as Replug, Sudbeat and John 00 Fleming's JOOF. Remixes for Particles have seen Curtis rework the likes of Kobana, Huminal and Matter as he now returns to remix Rafa'EL. Immediately hitting hard with strong beat, off-beat percussive cadence and a rich glissando bassline framework, shimmering melodic motifs that resonate with the "Floating Moments" original pan across the left-right spectrum in dizzying fashion. A swathe of additional production material from the Rich Curtis arsenal makes its presence felt, especially in a wonderfully emotive breakdown, as the second half picks up the pace once more with new sequences and driving rhythmic force.

Anchored in strong remixes from Blood Groove and Kikis and Rich Curtis, Rafa'EL has "Floating Moments" to remember.

Eros, is the 7th EP of Various Artist from Droid9 South America, it includes 3 original mixes of pure Progressive House made by great artists. Among them are Argentine producers such as Konte, Andres Moris, Colou Befu and Ignacio Berardi.

Voice of experience, is the first track on this EP, made by Konte. In this track you can appreciate an ambient and dark sound, along with a very well achieved base, accompanied by a deep house sound to some extent. This creation keeps us in tune all the time, it is an ideal track for any time of the night, either at the end of a warm up or to generate a calmer atmosphere in an extensive set.

Into the light, is the second track, made by Andres Moris. This track obtained the support of Guy J (Echos 11/13/2020), in it we can notice in this creation a fine mixture in the Progressive House style, you can see solid drums accompanied by a powerful bassline, which when combined With the melody it begins to take us on a one-way trip to another dimension. Everything that seemed heavenly turns dark, minimal-style sounds begin to enter our ears which keeps the crowd to keep moving. It is an ideal track for any type of environment , in which listeners will go through different states of mind when being heard.

Sayonara, third track compiled by Colou Befu and Ignacio Berardi. You can see in this creation, a mix between an aggressive yet hypnotic and enveloping sound that progressively mutates and takes us on a journey from beginning to end. The combination of drums, melody and bass makes it sustain a good groove for the dance floor, which holds us to the floor and keeps us in constant motion. Undoubtedly this track can be used to exploit the night on any given dancefloor
