Greg Venny - Across the River [Future Avenue]

Opening the spring season, Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes J-Sevilla to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Mexico, Jorge Sevilla aka J-Sevilla has been a fixture of the progressive house underground for the better part of a decade. Releases via Another Life Music, BCSA, Just Movement and Soundteller Records sit as discography highlights, while the genre's premiere trendsetters in Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been supporters along the way. Now, following an EP for Karia Records to begin the year, J-Sevilla makes his Dopamine White debut with a three-track showcase entitled 'Cosmogenia'.

Beginning with the title selection, J-Sevilla crafts a framework of deep punchy beats and spacious, well carved grooves. Its rhythmic energy grows subtlety, as waves of percussion, evolving atmospheres and indistinct vocal elements transfer energy into a break that is both tranquil and timely. The brief interlude builds a gentle tension and anticipation, before smoothly segueing into a dubbed out late night finale.

Selection two 'Forever In My Mind' picks up the pace set by its predecessor with fuller bass lines and flickering percussion setting the piece in motion. Arpeggiated themes, timely vocal elements and warm atmospheric phrasing add to the narrative, creating a meditative state leading into the main break. Concise and well crafted, the interlude captivates with its clustered effects and timely modulation, smoothly building to a groovy drop and hypnotic finale.

The release concludes in fine fashion with the hopeful monochromes of 'I WIll Look for You in the Skies'. Beginning with perfectly sculpted beats and panoramic atmospheres, it's a production that's compelling from the start. Rolling percussive arrangements slowly encase the framework, as haunting vocal elements and warm key changing grooves add nicely to its poignant nature across a smooth heartrending finale. Thought-provoking and emotional in equal measure, it rounds out what is an inspired EP from J-Sevilla, an artist who makes an impressive Dopamine White debut here.

We bring you our next EP and what an EP this is,

We welcome back AKIVA this time with his Irreversible EP and alongside the originals we bring 3 x Heavyweights of the scene on remix duties, Hernan Cattaneo and Martin Garcia - (TWO Remixes) and Hobin Rude creating an outstanding release.

AKIVA's original of Irreversible kicks things off, this is a slightly dark groove with melodic elements throughout that keep things moving and interesting, this is a great opener that sets things up for Hobin.

Hobin takes over with his remix which takes things up a notch with a big Progressive grinder sure to get any dancefloor moving, sure to be found in many setlists.

We then move back with the second original from AKIVA with The Wait, Again another beautifully put together production taking you on a bit of deeper rolling Proggy number a certain to fit in all sets be it early, mid or late.

What comes up next are two remixes from the legendary Hernan Cattaneo and Martin Garcia, The guys take the original and give it a darker, more tech sound whilst maintaining many of the original elements, it feels like something to get your feet moving within those amazing underground dark venues, we think you will like it.

And lastly the guys treat us to a Breaks remix, again maintaining the more tech sounds of their 4/4 remix but breaking it down for us in a way that we all love at Pro B.

This EP is yet another we are so proud to release, and provides something for every dancefloor, every time within the day, afternoon or night.
