If you want relaxing, put you to sleep electronica cuts, skip Drone Flesh’s new remix of “Revolution” by the fabulous Rotten Prostitutes simply called “Revolution (Drone Flesh Evolution)”. This thing is anything but a snoozer. This track will spike your interest in the electronica world; almost genre-defying, and as close as you’re likely to come, in an age of heavy electronic experimentation. You’re on a space craft flying around the universe…or are you standing on Earth staring at the sky? Or are you doing both in parallel universes at the same time? The latter is how this remix feels.

Drone Flesh pumps out deep moody bass, dubstep atmospheres, and just all around immersive music that is full of emotion and intention. The hard thing to do is put expression and emotion into your music when playing or programming an electronic instrument. Drone Flesh shows you that it is possible. The low-end synth sounds are gritty and textured and the track is layered with interesting rhythms and effects.

“Revolution (Drone Flesh Evolution)” is grinding, punishing and massive get-the-hell-out-of-the-way music. This is slow, driving power bursts of electronics, percussion, and gut-busting bass. You might want to check and see if the screws have come out of your speakers after playing this one. You might also want to make sure your doors are locked so the neighbors don’t get to you!

This is uncompromising music; brutal yet beautiful at points, and modern to the core. Slow gnarly pieces of music that pulverize you but still managing to leave air in your lungs. Amid the mayhem you get patches of smooth sounds. But mostly it is beat and grinding bass, thrown at you without any let up. I suppose you could dance to this. Or grind to it, like robots on a battlefield! This is great workout music and it rocks in any car stereo. Potential Paradox

A hair-raising return to electro’s brightest hour as a sliding bass and pounding drum kicks are fused with grimy, robotic synth arrangements.

Seventeen In The Mix

A joyous explosion of riotous rhythms and distorted, angular synth melodies. This one has a synth riff best described as mindblowing, incorporating vocal samples and sound effects with highly intoxicating and enjoyable results.

Riding The Waves maintains the feverish intensity of Be Yourself, again propelled by a slick synth bass and a colossal, equally dubstep-inspired beat. It takes the essential sound of Deadmau5 and sends it into space, with interesting results on re-entry. Indeed, things takes a rather psychedelic turn around the halfway mark, before returning to its hard hitting roots.

Riding The Waves

Be Yourself throws you into the deep end straight away, the musical equivalent of a rollercoaster ride. Pounding four to the floor kick drum competes with syncopated filter effects and tension-building risers before bursting into a full beat driven by a pulsating low end synth bass. 

It goes into an excellent percussive section around the 1.30 mark that made think of The KLF's acid house classic What Time Is Love? It has a similar sense of euphoria and momentum, maintaining the energy till the end. A barnstorming start to the EP and surely a hit waiting to happen on the dancefloor.
