Dropper is comprised of veterans musicians of the New York City scene who have done their fair share of “tours to nowhere”. While much of this album centers around self-reflection, “Waste of Time” addresses the specific frustration that is often felt when faced with the realities of touring on a small scale. It’s okay though, we’re living the dream.

I think most people have gone through at least one breakup or had a friendship end that pretty much wrecked them for a little while. ‘Ok Ok Ok’ is about going to a party and being hyper-aware of that other person’s presence. It’s about trying to overcome discomfort but in the process overcompensating and being (maybe just a little) petty. It’s about that desire to prove to that other person, and to yourself, that you’re okay when maybe the truth is, you’re not. We were lucky enough to record and mix this and album with producer, Andrija Tokic at The Bomb Shelter studio in Nashville. Mastered by the legendary Heba Kadry.

“We recorded ‘Memoirs of Working in a Bowling Alley’ and the rest of our debut album with Andrija Tokic at the Bomb Shelter Studio in Nashville. I’ve spent my entire adult life working in various service industry jobs- some more soul sucking than others. One of these jobs was spraying bowling shoes at the local lanes. ‘Memoirs’ is about working these types of jobs and how at times it makes you question humanity and never want to speak to a soul ever again; that emotional drain that can only be experienced when you’re dealing with shitty drunk people night after night.” -Andrea Scanniello of Dropper
