The artistry behind Drowning Olsyn is comprised of two amazingly talented individuals, Emma Sophina and Michael Carlisle, who draw from life's successes and tragedies to open up an emotional journey to all who listen.

Emma Sophina, an Australian Native, was thrust into the public spotlight, in 2009, through an incident we've come to know as "Miracle on the Hudson". This event would lead to Emma's signing with Universal Records in New York and open up a vast array of singing opportunities on Larry King, Good Morning America and more. Emma's vocal stylings offer a wide range of tonal precision in which she can captivate audiences of any genre.

Michael Carlisle, a small town Texas boy, cut his teeth on a mix of country, rock, and blues. With the loss of his father and mother, Michael has had his own obstacles to overcome. He does so with a strength and tenacity reflected in his songwriting. Michael has traveled as both a musician and vocalist, playing for the roughest and rowdiest to the most elite. His charm and enthusiasm for music give inspiration and entertainment to people of all ages.

Michael and Emma met in 2011 and their musical chemistry was immediate. They performed together for a while before deciding to join forces and start collaboration on an album of their own. Michael with his Texas roots and Emma with her jazz, pop, R & B background created a rowdy sophistication in their music. It's what happens when denim meets lace, a classic tale of "Beauty and the Beauty".

Drowning Olsyn's debut album, "Lie To Me", is nothing short of brilliant. From the gut wrenching display of relational hardship in the title track, to the playful back and forth of new love in "Lipstick Letters", from a man toiling with his hammer on a chain gang in "Down To My Grave", to the more redemptive "Better Go Home", the wide array of themes throughout this record leave the audience holding on to their loved one, or maybe a handkerchief.
