Break The Speakers 9 ~ #Breaks #BassBreaks Mix

This is one of many live set recordings over the last few years I have been wanting to release.  The recording captures a live improvised mix from a private event called "Interconnected Campout" which has continued to be an annual unifying event in the woodlands of Northern California.  This was my Saturday evening set for the 2022 event and was fueled organically by the crowd, evolving in the moment, shifting between driving break beats down to haunting tribal undertones and bright uplifting interludes.  I personally enjoyed this set so much, I played the same sequence at another festival "Connections" later that year and it was praised once again by those who were there to share it with me.  However, this original recording from "Interconnected" was my favorite rendition.  I am happy to finally post this recording so that it may live on.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Mr. Funkman's Wildfire debut but certainly not new to the art of the breakbeat, Game Over is a roller with a heavy beat in the driver's seat, synth bass riding shotgun and something funky tied up in the trunk. A nostalgic and familiar vocal sums up the vibe. It's all over man!. Want U Back is another high energy beat and whispering funky guitars being bullied by the electro style synth chops. A heavenly female vocal starts dancing across the heavier elements and balances them perfectly. Together these 2 tracks are a lethal combo. and will find itself at home in any high octane breakbeat collection.

I had the awesome opportunity to open for Neon Steve about a year ago.  It was my FIRST time playing out on CDJs.  Would he have let me have a go if he knew? < insert little angel face here >. Extremely proud with how the mix came out, and even prouder to be part of such an important step towards greater freedom of expression at UK conventions as Animalz was!
