This week, to celebrate our 200th mix, we have the recording of Critical Control Point playing a 4 deck smasher of a mix for the good people at 91.7 FM WMSE in Milwaukee WI. He played on Saturday August 6th at the Transcentral studio and definitely laid it down heavy. This man has done huge things for the state side DnB community. Over 7 years ago he started Drum and Bass Proper to help get up and coming DJs an outlet to have their mixes heard. He has provided a lot of exposure to DJs that might never have had an audience. This marks a massive milestone for him and the Drum and Bass Proper crew. Big ups to the bad man CCP!!!

AE PodCast March 2023 ft Nurve Guest Mix

J-Path and WX team up once more for the latest CONFUCIAN release.
The Seoul-based label is at the forefront of the South Korean drum and bass scene, and is rapidly acquiring an international reputation for signing quality tunes from the deeper end of the genre.

Both artists have released extensively on the label (WX - AKA Wet Xeomi - has also released under the Xeomi alias and recently signed music to ProgRAM), and have managed to refine a distinctive minimal sound over time. Their latest release, inspired by images of abandoned ruins lost to the desert sands, is testament to this.

Dust Digger opens with a vast and expansive soundscape; glimmering arpeggios, arid pads, and an encroaching dissonance which dissipates before a skippy kick and warped, distorted bassline drive the track forwards. Elements from the introduction are periodically reintroduced, resulting in an ethereal-yetgroovy minimal stepper.

Conversely, Descendants of Filth is driven by off-kilter syncopated snares and kicks. Neuro-drived bass sound design fuse with complex synthetic drum patterns to produce a futuristic piece of hybrid jungle. 

Layers of pads, counter-melodies, and a continual evolving soundscape ensures that the track captures the feeling of an adventure into ancient and unknown lands. 

The two artists convincingly piece together an artistic project and repurpose their source material through the medium of drum and bass music.

For digging the Crates Radio episode 3 we invited local drum & bass legend & friend Beau ‘Pacify’ Kingsma. After playing B2B with no other than Skrillex 8 years ago, Beau knew that drum & bass was what he really wanted to pursue as his musical passion. Beau is known for his fast-paced neuro sets where he plays, as he likes to call it, “Niet normaal harde drum & bass” 😎.

Over the years Beau has had some well-respected gigs where he moved the crowd with the sickest double-and-triple drops that G-city has ever heard, some of which were:

-  Noisia Outer Edge afterparty
-  Bevrijdingsfestival 
-  Closing Machtig after the Upbeats
-  Various Subsonic parties

Just before Covid he played together with Fusion Mode at AGORA and during the pandemic he didn't stood still and did several livestreams to blast through the home-cinema studios. As a professional early morning DJ he will break our souls like no other. Expect no less than the rawest tunes and well chosen double-drops from his set for our Crater's 'Digging the Crates Radio'.
