to be honest Techno and Trance (tech-trance) is one of the best combinations, awesome track.

Take Control', the latest single from UK producer Alan Fitzpatrick features the creative genius of his 10 year old son, Mylo Fitzpatrick. 

Kettle drum kicks and a rolling low end are paced by claps and a spritely swung hat line. Melodics build the tension to the first break where a female voice tells us to ‘let the music take control’. Fully responsive, nuanced acid and far away trance pads act as a brief oasis of calm before the final drop explodes from the speakers.

2016 was a standout year for Alan Fitzpatrick, with the Drumcode stalwart racing out of the gates in spectacular fashion with the release of his fabric 87 mix. A substantial amount of high profile shows followed, including appearing at the inaugural Junction 2 festival and closing the car park to a packed-to-the-rafters-crowd at Drumcode Halloween. He returns to Drumcode with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, marking his first appearance on the label since late 2016 when he remixed Moby’s seminal ‘Porcelain’.

The release opens with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, a track which caused a Twitter meltdown on Alan’s profile when he first started playing it at the tail end of 2016. Loaded with sharp and pounding drums, this is an ethereal experience from start to finish and packs a real punch. It’s a no holds barred, certified main room anthem. ‘Wait A Second’ feat. mc r1bbz has been a staple of Adam Beyer’s sets of late and has been getting a lot of air time on Drumcode Radio. This rave inspired track takes a raw, stripped back approach and delivers a real killer blow. Alan sampled the vocals of mc r1bbz from an LTJ Bukem tape pack from the early 90s and the record tips its cap to early jungle raves around the M25. The release closes with ‘Trance, Init?’; A homage to Alan’s days first and foremost as a raver before he became a DJ, with his non-purist attitude when it comes to electronic music shining through. The breakdown is sure to be a hands in the air moment at festivals all over the globe this summer.

After taking the roof off 2 Misfit club events now, it seemed right for the Leeds based duo to showcase their slick Techno productions on the club's new record label. 
Paul Maddox & Rich Wakley's studio output as Spektre has continued to propel them to the upper echelons of the Techno world recently with releases on Drumcode, Tronic, Kraftek and Elevate, to name but a few. 
Lead track Gas Mask is a heavy duty slice of peak time Techno. Building atmospherics and precise percussion underpin the track while huge synth stabs and vocals samples build to create serious dancefloor destruction.
For remix duties, Misfit have drafted in Northern Irish Techno titans Loco & Jam. Their take retains all the peak time vibes of the original, but highlights their deeper, groovier style of Techno.
Completing the release is the dark and moody 'Decompression'. Stripped back to the bare essentials and as underground as it gets, the track is pounding and relentless in it's mission!

Burrows is back! Following last year's hit "All Your Dreams", Gary returns to Respekt with a worthy successor in "Burning". Fusing his trademark rave influences with uncompromising drums and a DnB-inspired break, Burning is pure fire.
The remix comes from Dave Sinner, who dials back the tempo and cranks up the groove for a wicked, percussive re-think.
As if those two weren't enough, Gary also provides the relentless "Reaper One" and the shuffling acid of "Can't Hold Back" to complete the package.

Manchester’s Rudosa has been crafting his sound for the last decade. In that time, he has been a Sankeys Manchester resident DJ and has had a number of releases on the Stereo Productions, Deeperfect and Wow! Recordings labels. 2018 has been solid for the man, with the release of his 'Invasion' EP on Carl Cox’s Intec and another 4 track EP on Suara which drew support from techno luminaries Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens and Charlotte De Witte.

December brings a new record on Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave. ‘Activated’ is a three-track smasher with the high energy you expect from Rudosa. The title track immediately draws you in with its captivating vocal stabs. ‘Hypoxia’ has a similar vibe with more resonating vocals and rippling melodies. Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave imprint continues to blossom into one of the most prominent labels in the industry today, as the latest release sees the founder link up with Grammy Award Winning duo CamelPhat on a pair of massive techno tracks via the 'Kona' EP. Here Mixmag reveals the premiere of the EP's title track, a euphoric and anthemic peak-time techno cut packed with relentless energy. 

Alan Fitzpatrick had this to say on the new collaboration: “It’s always exciting for me to work with new artists and people that I think can bring a different take on things in the studio. As individual artists our styles are fairly different, and that always sparks some magic in the studio. This time round it was techno magic, in the form of 'Kona' and 'Liberation'"

The 'Kona' EP is set for release April 19.
