The Big Cat is in the house again with two collab tracks plenty of synth layers, techno feelings and dancefloor vibes. 'Back To Oblivion' is produced together with the Bulgarian rising star Timmo, well known by his releases on Drumcode. The track is leaded by a mental arpeggio which is growing & growing until an explosive breakdown. 'Sun And Sand' was made by the Suaras boss, the Canadian Weska and the German Kevin de Bries, it's elegant and intense techno track produced around a female sample vox.

Etwas mehr als ein Jahr nach der ersten Veröffentlichung von @reinier-zonneveld auf dem Imprint @filthonacid, folgt ein neues Release des niederländischen Produzenten auf dem eigenen Label. In Zusammenarbeit mit seinem Landsmann @bart-skils, der in Amsterdam zu Hause ist, entstand die Nummer „Snakecharmer“. Das Teil besticht mit seiner hypnotisierenden Melodie und ist umgeben von treibenden Drums, um seine Hörer in eine hypnotische Ekstase zu versetzen. Den passenden Remix zum Original kommt vom Duo @pig-and-dan, die die hypnotischen Elemente sich zur Brust genommen und einen technoiden Remix geschaffen haben. (...)

Monika Kruse Meets Timmo - Violet

Drumcode mainstay Bart Skils links up with emerging DJ/producer Weska for a maiden collaboration.

The duo first met in 2013 when Bart played Toronto’s iconic Coda, where Weska was a regular. In friendship and in music, they clicked effortlessly. Since then, the Dutchman has become one of DC’s most vital contributors, releasing a consistent stream of standout productions on the label, highlighted by the now-classic ‘Your Mind’ with Adam Beyer. Meanwhile the rhythmic power of Weska’s productions caught the ear of Beyer who gave the young Canadian his debut on the imprint with ‘Other Places’ when ‘A-Sides Vol.7’ dropped last summer.

When Weska migrated to Berlin a plan was hatched to collaborate, with the pair swapping ideas back and forth, before linking up in Amsterdam to finish the work. The propulsive ‘Polarize’ EP is the result, a pair of cuts that have highlighted Beyer’s gigs at Department Festival in Stockholm, Junction 2 and his behemoth B2B with Cirez D at EDC Vegas. The title cut packs a punch with rugged basslines and pin-sharp percussion, while stabs of melody dip in and out with euphoric effect. ‘Lost On You’ is a heady trip into the abyss with a sinister vocal line and powerful climax.

Premiere: Thomas Schumacher & Victor Ruiz - Intuit [Drumcode]

Tronic labels' head honcho, Christian Smith, returns to Tronic for his first single of the year. Fresh after his recent hit on Drumcode's A-Sides, he delivered two tracks that resemble his production style and music plays in his sets. 'Phazon' named after the famous sound system of the legendary New York club, Twilo, focuses on one main melody and forward driving energy. 'I called this track Phazon, because while I was producing it I incorporated an old school style melody and imagined how amazing it would have sounded on the insane Phazon system at Twilo in NYC. 'Hallucinate' is another adrenaline bomb, using analog rave sirens and a hypnotic female voice. This EP has been tested at many gigs before the global lockdown to great reactions.
