This is the only track i like from the EP... IMHO Drumcode needs an innovation.. too many attentions to style perfection and neatness, elegance but too little to the building of new sounds and rhythms.. it looks like an article in the newspaper with formal perfection and cohesion, but with no important contents in it.. the fact i love of the Label is that i can recognize when a track is DC or not, and this makes the difference between the usual and stereotypated Techno that floats in the Mainstream markets like Beatport nowadays (except for Capriati, Sims and Fitzpatrick [and Beck, even if i don't like his works for DC] they're untouchables).. I would really see changes with artists now promoted by Tiga like Clouds (just like Slam & Soma have done), J. Tijn, Joefarr or stunning acts like Randomer, Cosmin Trg, AnD, BLAWAN (!!!!!), The Analogue Cops, EOMAC, Octave, Suckut and so on, only to name a few [i know they're linked with other Labels but things can be modified through the years].. DC has a real huge power in his hands and i hope in a better future.. Waiting for a Dense & Pika EP.. I'm quite sure they will make what i expect from DC ;) Sorry for the poem, i wanted to do some constructive criticism and not saying it's 'horrid'; and sorry for the REAL REAL bad English but.. das ist so :D

Sam’s EP boot’s off with ‘Chocolate’, a track that builds and builds using detuned synths, stabs and funky drums to make any dance floor erupt. ‘Domino’ is a track that’s bassline drones underneath its own distinctive synth line to keep the drums rolling along steadily. The title track ‘Black Leather’ is everything you would expect in a Drumcode record; a subtle throbbing bass line which, keeps the track moving before the synth stabs enrapture the track and twist it into a dark, throbbing composition. The final track ‘Daegon’ uses dubbed out drums to incorporate a synth melody line that will blow your socks off and rounds off this well shaped EP.
