Adam Beyer’s Drumcode is growing from strength to strength, year after year, with a non-stop release schedule showcasing both the labels new and most established artists with cutting edge techno beats. Drumcode’s youngest rising star, Layton Giordani, exploded on to the scene after his debut album “Where It Begins” back in February, after scoring some of the biggest festivals in Europe this summer, he now returns with an exciting collab titled “Live Again”.

NY born and bred, Danny Tenaglia has always been a true inspiration for Layton since his teenage years, so when the opportunity to collaborate with the fellow NY legend was on the cards, it was a dream come true.

Danny and Layton join forces for the lead track ‘Live Again’. Its deep and dark with a slowly building pad wrapping around a modulating synthetic hook. The dark and effected vocal echo takes the track into a hypnotic vibe.

‘Take It Back’ delivers a pumping drive the moment it fires up. Snapping percussive force and an infectious rhythmic groove will unhinge dance floors nationwide, whilst ‘Secrets of Vibration’ has a rattling, yet blistering low end presence to it.

Drumcode has become a label synonymous with some of the most-cutting edge and forward-thinking techno over the last 20 years. Their artists include both emerging and established names, and one of those well recognised is Enrico Sangiuliano. Now announcing the very first concept album of his career.

The prolific Italian producer has been catapulted into the limelight after the runaway success of his past releases, and now Biomorph is born. 

A very special concept album designed to take the listener on a journey of evolution. A musical adaptation describing how biological and technological advances over numerous generations of time have all started from the same first step in our own biological journey.

Divided into 4 parts, Organisms opens with atmospheric tones, gradually blending complex textures and timbres to begin the evolutional process. The beginning of this section combines full sounding arrangements before stripping it all back to basics. From here it dissolves into the atmosphere. Organisms then progresses into a break-beat influenced, down tempo track using synths to add complexity to the straight, broken rhythms.

Galactic, futuristic elements are found in both tracks in Cosmic Forces. Upbeat, groovy, electronic synths resonate, before ‘Hidden T’ brings the tension to get things pumped up with stratospheric swirls and twirls to lay down one of the most mind meltingly deep drops.

Metamorphosis is mysterious, its opening beat is a deep and piercing tone that sends the listener into a sensory awareness of their surroundings before breaking into a fully charged, techno track, with Enrico’s trademark sounds and textures.

All evolution has an ending.

Two Probabilities shows the positive, starting out evocative and emotional, with a gentle harmony, gazing towards a ‘New Dawn’. On the other side of the spectrum lies the negative. This is influenced with a rhythm that articulates the beat of death, mathematical, cold and metallic in texture, it shows the unsustainability of its nature, with a hectic, anxious break beat influenced ending.

"From humble roots as a teenage bedroom DJ in sub-rural Pennsylvania, Chris Patrick has been a stalwart in the US house scene since the early 00s. Relocating to New York City from Philadelphia in 2007, he has since gained significant notoriety as resident DJ for the renowned SOUP parties, while simultaneously serving as A&R for the label and impressing in the studio with a slew of searing house cuts on a variety of labels.

In the last few months, Chris Patrick has remixed Man Without a Clue’s ‘Don’t Be Shy’, Deluxed ‘Your Love’ and Eskuche ‘In The Air’, all of which dropped to serious acclaim on SOUP, with a further remix of Renegade Masters’ huge ‘What I Love’ on Good Company Records. 2 Tha Face mark’s his full solo EP on SOUP, and is an exemplary release.

All three tracks included are tough, underground house cuts with a serious dose of rawness. Lead track 2 Tha Face fizzes with sharp hats, warped vocals and neon-flecked synth stabs, all pushed along on a frenetic groove, while the pummelling remix from Deluxed heads out on an even more twisted path, with a winding synth line and eerie samples creating a dark, powerful vibe. 

In Tha Kitchen is as stripped-back as house music gets, with crunchy drums and carefully judged distortion resulting in a visceral intensity, while Traces completes the package with melodic stabs and breathtakingly beautiful harmonic flourishes.
