Space 92 joins the FORM family with a bang, whipping up a searing techno mix of “Skylighter,” the newest single from label boss and fellow Frenchman, POPOF.

Space 92’s take on “Skylighter” radiates heat from the heavens, finding a middle ground somewhere along the astral plane between bellowing techno beats and intrinsically anthemic trance melodies. The result is a cranked up tune that is ultimately accessible, offering traces of familiarity for both techno connoisseurs, as well as those just being introduced the genre. By splitting the difference between the aggression of a Berlin dancefloor and a hands in the air stadium stomper, Space 92’s take on the POPOF original doesn’t only highlight a producer leading the curve in dance music, but further explains why he ranked as Beatport’s top charting techno act in 2020.

The full EP, FORM’s first of 2021, drops Friday, March 12, with additional remixes from Andres Campo and Animal & Me accompanying POPOF’s menacing and bass-fueled original.

A symbol for quality techno music going back 15 years, Jay Lumen makes his solo EP debut on Drumcode.

A dance music journeyman with over 70 releases and a quality imprint Footwork Audio to his name, Jay Lumen’s solo debut EP on Adam Beyer’s label is richly deserved. The artist has been in standout form recently, most notably contributing ‘Galactic Rainbow’ to A-Sides Vol.10, one of the highlights of the compilation. We got our first taste of Lumen on Drumcode way back in 2012 when he teamed with Gary Beck for the rhythmic gem ‘Lotus’. Nine years on, his next EP offering doesn’t disappoint.

‘Returning’ is marked by crushing drumlines and shuffling beats, before gradually building into an emotional chord driven cut that looks hopefully towards the future. ‘Mind’ contrasts this perfectly, a loopy monster that rolls for days, evoking a distinct old skool spirit.
Speaking about the title track, Lumen explains: “I wrote ‘Returning’ when I was in a period of really missing techno and the party community. The physical contact with people at events, as well as on the streets and at venues before the shows. Hugs and interactions. I can already imagine playing this at the first open air after lockdown as the sun sets. This track is about the reunion and happiness we’re all going to share.”

With a two year hiatus since 2020's Love in the Age of Machines album, Pleasurekraft's highly-anticipated return is finally here with a diverse two track EP. For Respekt 172, we take a little dig into Spektre’s Respekt back catalogue, with a quintet of reworks from the scene’s finest.
OC & Verde kick things off with their super vibey interpretation of “Carnival of Souls” - a timely chaser to their huge Respekt hit “Mondoshawan”.

Next up to the plate is Harvey McKay, making his debut on the label with a characteristically stripped-back, no nonsense take on “Gates of Dawn”.

Manchester’s Rudosa transplants the melodies from “Forged in the Heart of a Laserbeam” onto his trademark heavy drums and rumbling low-end, whilst Hush & Sleep and Raito put their inimitable stamps on “Strobelight” and “Celeste” respectively.

Premiere: Spektre - Carnival Of Souls (OC & Verde Remix)

Beico & MT93 are back on Unrilis with a new four-track EP in the style they have previously championed on other labels such as Terminal M, Respekt, Kraftek and Suara.

The Argentinian duo’s last release on Unrilis picked up support from artists ranging from Adam Beyer to Slam, and this one is a much anticipated follow up.

Opening the EP is “Reflection Intro” which ramps up the tension with slow-building synths and dramatic bass stabs. The original mix of “Reflection” is next on the EP with its rattling hi-hats and pounding kick drum fused with the namesake vocal sample.

Second of the original cuts is “Tenebrous” that combines a flickering lead synth with explosive tom drums and thrashing off-beat hats. “Real Faces” closes the EP with its pulsating bass synth overplayed with bursts of euphoria perfect for maximum dance floor impact.
