In typically thrilling form, Tiger Stripes returns for his annual outing on Drumcode. 

His ‘Rocket’ EP was conceived during the pandemic as the Swede busied himself with paternity leave and taking care of his little tiger. During these fulfilling stretches of time, the pair immersed themselves in everything from Aphex Twin to Kelly Lee Owens and Yazoo, while at other times the Spotify playlists Electronic Rising and Altar would frequently soundtrack their playtime. The producer took this spirit with him into the studio, aiming to harness the positive energy of his reference points and combine it with his signature brand of multi-faceted techno.

Petter B delivers an outstanding new EP on Drumcode proving that Swedish techno is thriving! The first track which, is a collaboration between Petter B, John H & M.E.E.O, uses an arpegiated synth before storming to the main section of the track and breaking down the doors. The gliding synth  sounds really fire with all guns blazing to produce a techno monster that growls. Petter B’s next two tracks involve two solo offerings that are heavily techno based. ‘Voltage Controlled Time’ uses raw distorted drums and a catchy synth line to really give the track a lot of energy and power. ‘Loggbay Session B’ incorporates a cool percussion element to the track to add rhythm and funk to the straight chunky drums.

After appearing on A-Sides Volume 4 at the start of 2016, Ilario Alicante now makes his full debut on the label. He has quickly established himself as a key player amongst a new crop of techno artists and truly is one of the brightest stars in the game. His skills behind the decks have seen him tour the globe with Cocoon, as well as appear at the likes of elrow, Lovefest and We Are FSTVL.

Opening with ‘Times’, the EP gets off to a flying start as the track rages straight into top gear, rolling through 6 minutes of pure power. This is a peak time tool that is set to be heard across dance floors worldwide this year. ‘Awakened’ you may have heard from Adam Beyer’s sets of late, a firm favourite which gets his much sought after seal of approval. Rampant syths and mesmerizing vocal hooks all make it one hell of a journey. ‘Sense’ is a more industrial affair, chunky basslines take your hand through the track as it charges on. It’s that classic deep Ilario Alicante sound we all know and love. The EP finishes off on ‘Apogeo’, with its hypnotic siren tones and acute percussion. One thing is for sure, Ilario Alicante is in a league of his own.

I am very happy to welcome the very nice guy Drumcomplex on my label. We met this year for the first time, but it clicked immediately.
