Italian producer Powl makes a strong statement on Techords with his new single ‘Move Like That’, released on 25th September. A stripped-back yet heavy-hitting cut, it thrives on underground energy, driven by relentless bass and haunting vocal chops that give it both grit and atmosphere.

From the first beat, the track locks listeners into its hypnotic rhythm. A weighty low end anchors the production, pushing the sound system hard, while crisp percussion and subtle melodic touches add shape to the groove. The vocal samples are twisted and ghostly, threading through the mix like echoes from another room. It is this interplay of groove and atmosphere that makes ‘Move Like That’ such a compelling listen, designed for heads-down dancers and long, late-night sessions.

Techords has long been a home for functional but forward-thinking club tools, and Powl fits that mould perfectly. His production style leans on simplicity, but never at the expense of depth. Each element is finely tuned to serve the floor, creating a track that feels raw yet refined.

Behind Powl is Luigi Potenza, a DJ and producer from Cisternino in southern Italy. Since starting in his local scene, he has built a reputation for eclectic sets that move between bass house and house, always driven by energy and groove. That same versatility is reflected in his productions, where constant musical exploration has shaped a sound that strikes a balance between functionality and character.

‘Move Like That’ marks another step forward for Powl, showing his ability to craft tracks that are not only built for the club but carry a distinct signature. With its rolling energy and hypnotic edge, this track is sure to remain in DJs’ rotation long after its release.

Berlin/Barcelona based OFF Recordings is run by Andre Crom, focusing its sound to different shades of techno. In the past 2 years, the label has featured the likes of Charlotte de Witte, Cari Lekebusch, Luca Agnelli, TWR72 and a selection of other well-known and emerging artists. The previous OFF Recordings release from DEAS picked up feedback and support from the likes of Slam, Pan-Pot, Adam Beyer, Cristian Varela and Amelie Lens. This new release is from German born Arnd Reichow aka Drumcomplex, who recently contributed a remix to Man With No Shadow's EP for OFF Recordings. Drumcomplex makes a welcome return with his debut solo release of original music, where his back catalogue also includes contributions to Carl Cox's Intec, Traum, Bush, and his own Complexed Records. Track one “Eyesight” has a rolling groove with a mechanical percussion sequence made with military precision. Dark and pounding, vocal stabs washed in delay bounce round the mix creating an impression of vast open space, whilst the lead synths adds a tense sense of urgency to this techno stomper. The second track “Definition” opens with fast flowing hi-hats and the thud of the kick drum before introducing the menacing tones of the arpeggiated lead synth, which alongside the sinister vocals, gives the track a fearsome atmosphere. Not for the faint-hearted, this brutal cut of techno is a certified dancefloor smasher made for peak time club sets. Finishing the release is “Complex” which has epic synths that full of texture, paint pictures of dystopian landscapes. Understated and intelligent this is the deepest track on the EP, but anything it lacks in ferocity is compensated by its mysterious atmosphere and intricate production, which at times is almost cinematic.

First up is Transcode's solo outing 'Eternal Gateway', a blissed-out synth daydream with breathy sequences dancing over an emotive reese bass and galloping drums.
