15 Years Drumpoet

It all started with a community of DJs and beatmakers. Inspired by the various electronic techno + house tingled music from Detroit and Chicago and a deep passion for UK bass music as well as US hip hop and 70’s soul-jazz. This crew of guys from Zurich and the surrounding area combined all of that and started creating a sound which they called b-boy house and teknowsoul. The first bunch of releases brought international breakthrough and artists like Soultourist, Quarion, Cavalier, The Lost Men, and John Daly left a deep impact and sparked the interest of the global dance scene. Back then Alex Dallas hosted the Loud Minority Nights at the infamous Dachkantine in Zurich, inviting special and like-minded international guests. Accompanied by the artists of the Drumpoet Community, this night became a blueprint and was continued in Alex's new club Zukunft (founded in 2005) and to this day the Drumpoet's host institutional nights there.
 
The club was always the spot where it all came together and where the new music was tested. it was clear from the very beginning that it had to embrace joy, passion, dedication, and positivity. Ron Shiller and Alex Dallas share the same philosophy when it comes to music. They do not jump on trends quickly. 
In contrary to the usual mechanisms of the hype dance music industry, they let the music breathe like a bottle of good old wine and take the time it needs to present timeless quality dance music.
 
This compilation manifests the long history of the label, the friendships made over decades, and the honest love for dance music. Drumpoet is more than proud to present a compilation celebrating the label's 15th or even 16th anniversary, with special performances by iconic artists such as Herbert, Roman Flügel, Frank Wiedemann, Manuel Tur, Lauer, John Daly, Kalabrese, Manuel Fischer, Nicola Kazimir, Ripperton and Jimi Jules. A journey into the world of sounds, profound without dogma and as brave and innocent as it gets.

A Break InTime is an ambient album written during the lockdown as a sort of calming therapy/meditation exercise. The project quickly took form with a unique sonic identity and message inspired by this feeling isolation felt during that time. The album is about fragility, naivety, contemplating our
vulnerability but also of our resilience and the feeling of alone/together.
This album might have taken less than a year to make, but it’s a culmination of influences drawing back to his early 90s growing up in Québec City. He was then known simply as Everything, performing live in
Raves and Chill Out Room, armed with nothing but a 909, an 
SH-101 an Ensoniq EPS and a Quadraverb. His love for ambient music never faded. With early influences such as Carl Craig seminal “Landcruising”, Warp’s “Artificial Intelligence” and Black Dog Production “Bytes”,
this album bridges the gap between here and there, now and then: where time stands still. This is a collaborative release from Compost Records and Drumpoet Community.

Tal Fussman is an outstanding young artist worth keeping an eye on. His productions are at the forefront of innovation, breathing new life into the electronic dance scene. His releases on renowned labels like Exit Strategy and Innervisions among others as well his own Survival Tactics label affirm that his sound is a pioneering fresh blueprint for the Detroit tingled Techno/House world.

His forthcoming Focus EP for Drumpoet will be released on the 22nd of March 2024 and Tal was so kind to deliver this stunning mix. Tal delievered what we are looking for, truly honest dance-music with a twist of futurism!"

We could tell you a million things about Fred Everything. To make it short we just introduce you to a couple of facts:

1. He's producing music since the mid 90's
2. He released more than 150 records so far
3. He's one of the true heroes of housemusic and as many say one of the best djs on the planet.

We are really happy to welcome such a legendary producer on the label. With these tracks he just entered our hearts and made us jump + dance.
What else can we expect from these tunes. Looks like they are hits. Everytime and wherever we played them, the people just had a smile on their face and seemed to have a brilliant and euphoric time.
