What A Beautiful Morning!

A full length album with arguably the most confronting and relevant commentary on American culture to come out for a decade, The Loudness Wars will have you stuck on repeat unpacking layers of meaning for weeks on end. Songs like “Alone in America” and “What a Beautiful Morning!” propose questions about life in America which we don’t seem to have answers for. Others, like “Under the Stars In Tennessee” bring us deep into the personal perspective of lead singer Jacob Cassman and allow a closer look into the experiences which inspire him to write songs.

The Loudness Wars is a critical, but ultimately empathetic examination of people on both sides of the socio/political/geographical divide in our country. The record addresses the anxiety of the misinformation age, the uniqueness of American violence, and the hopes, fears and people we cling to in the chaos.

When asked about what excites him most about the record, Cassman said, “...this record is filled with exciting contradictions, tensions and conflicting narratives in a way that neither of our previous records even attempted. While the album was originally conceived as sung from the perspective of the Cuck and the Hick, I don't think the listener (or even myself) need to be bound by that framing of the record. It is a concept record that was designed to be emotionally messy but deeply thoughtful all at once.”
