Mainz duo Teenage Mutants explore the dark side of melodic techno in their Running EP, with Bulgarian tech house patron Metodi Hristov as guest remixer.

A power packed anthem, Rising uses an undulating bassline to map out rhythmic patterns, while looming synths add a raw feel to the overarching melody.

Title track Running unveils an arpeggio-heavy construction, as drum sequences build up an abstract melody, in a nervous rhythm that moves through a cavernous space brimming with sonic flares and distant synth echoes.

Metodi Hristov rewires Running, administering a dose of rolling, groove-driven electro to this unapologetically compelling slice of techno. The artist operates frenzied percussion and irregular synth layers that all come together in unison for repeated, slow burning yet effective breakdowns.

Laying the foundation for this club-ready collection of tracks is French producer Kiko, bringing a certain je ne sais quoi with the full spectral Echoes of Light and the multifaceted Panavision. Thousand Sirens follows up with with the driving psychedelia of Kahlil, priming the dancefloor for an intrepid journey with Humanizm, a trippy, bass-heavy track interwoven with powerful, thought-inspiring vocal samples. Hot to trot VNTM commands attention with his unique riff on dark, underground techno interspersed with progressive melodies in. Echoist packs a punch, and Orange Skies delivers the roundhouse kick with its upbeat, squelchy synths. Drunken Kong raises the tempo with the expansive Uncovered, laced with exotic strings in a nod to his Asian heritage. The Eye certain to engage the dancefloor with its charismatic tones and dynamic percussion. You would be forgiven for expecting a genie to jump out of a bottle as you travel through the lush soundscapes of Heerhorsts Magic Carpet. Riding into the sunset is 1001, rounding off the compilation with its special brand of hearty, industrial darkness. So deep youll choke on it, so dark it will take your retinas a while to readjust to the light, its safe to say this is a compilation for the dirtiest of dancefloors.

DRUNKEN KONG is the project of D. Singh and DJ Kyoko. In 2010, the two started their project when one day, they
suddenly decided to make a track together. Since then they have released two albums on Christian Smith's label Tronic, The Signs Within (2017) and Where We Start (2020) as well as numerous EPs and singles on labels such as Octopus Recordings, Stil Vor Talent and
Terminal M while they remain active with domestic labels such as Session WOMB. All 7 tracks of their EPs in early 2017 on Tronic and Terminal M have entered Beatport Top 100 Techno chart at the same time, which has made an impact on the Asian and global techno scene. 

Since then, their music has been constantly entering top charts. Their music is gaining a lot of attention/support from
international top artists and DJs such as Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Christian Smith, Monika Kruse, Pan-Pot, Umek, Hernan Cattaneo and Deadmau5, just to name a few. Their release “Repeat” from Octopus Recordings have entered Beatport Techno Top 10, being supported and played by many artists around the globe.

DRUNKEN KONG has always been active in the Tokyo techno scene, playing regularly at major festivals such as Ultra Japan and in clubs such as WOMB, Ageha, Unit, Vent, Contact and Vision Tokyo. The two are constantly attracting new fans with their unique sound and groove. With their powerful DJ style and charisma, the two are able to constantly amuse the audience while expanding their ideas and skills to the next level.
