Viele Jahre war er Teil des Duos Arts&Leni, tourte durch die Clubs Deutschlands und hat daher einen robusten musikalischen Background vorzuweisen. Weil er keine ruhige Kugel schieben kann, startete er nun ein Soloprojekt und setzt dabei den Fokus auf rollenden Techhouse, der seinem DJ-Namen komplett entspricht und ordentlich schiebt!

Kubin fand 1999 über den Grenzen der Konstanzer Heimat seinen Traum von der Zukunft in der schweizer Technoszene. Rohstofflager, Sensor, Street Parade - hier ravte er zu Dj-Sets und Live-Performances von Marco Carola, Green Velvet, Jeff Mills, Chris Liebing, Monika Kruse, Miss Kittin & The Hacker, Sven Väth und Carl Cox, um nur einige zu nennen. Besonders Letzterer bescherte Kubin ein sieben Stunden langes, komplett durchgetanztes Set auf einer Street Parade After Show Party in Zürich - von da an war seine Liebe zu Techno mit Schweiß und Muskelkater besiegelt.
Um nicht nur im Wohnzimmer hinter den Turntables zu stehen wird es 2003 Zeit für eigene Parties. Er gründet mit seinen Freunden einen Verein, um eine Plattform für die Partyreihe namens „Grenzfrequenz“ zu stellen. Mit der Grenzfrequenz-Reihe bringen Kubin und seine Freunde aka das Soundzimmer Kollektiv erst elektronische Beats in den Konstanzer Jugendclub Contrast und in die Rheinterrasse, kurz darauf findet die Grenzfrequenz ihre Heimat im neu eröffneten Neuwerk.
2006 endet die erste goldene Ära im Neuwerk. Die Grenzfrequenz verstummt, doch hinter den Mauern des Neuwerks erstrahlt ein neuer Fixstern am Konstanzer Technohimmel: die Kantine. Aus Grenzfrequenz wird Smack My Bits Up und mit dieser Party auch die bis heute währende Residentschaft von Kubin in dem noch jungen Club. Mittlerweile hat Kubin den Dancefloor in verschiedensten Städten zum grooven gebracht, darunter Zürich, Berlin, Stuttgart, München und Freiburg. Zu seinem Repertoire gehören vor allem House, Tech House und Techno. Er mag es von minimal zu melodiös, von deep zu funky, von sphärisch zu dark!

He started producing in the year 2003 with some Dub, Hip Hop and Electro House projects (the Dubmaschines, Kinky Row..with releases on Hazy Drops Records, Freaks Like Us ... and so on). Three years ago he founded the MiCHA3L FiCTiON project for Deep House and House music. His main intention is producing, to create new stuff for DJ’s and all the other music consumers and music lovers. He did some Releases and Remixes for Drunkn Punx Records and also you can find his tracks on many other compilations. Also he did remixes for: DISC RUNNERS, THE BOY WHO?, RICH KID SYNDROM and GANJA CULTURE.
 
His second intention is doing interesting and alluring mixtapes and DJ sets. But he prefers the studio situation, so it´s hard for you to get him out for DJ gigs. And now have fun with his Podcast for #FDF!

Hello everybody, this is the first Melanj mix, a project born late 2022-early 2023 as a fresh start and replacing Blooni, my previous techno alter-ego. It's a live recording in a location without real monitor speakers, so the mixing may not be exactly 100% perfect, but it works well enough to make me decide it's worth making public.
