So much has happened in the world since our last event - our 5 year birthday in February 2020. That fantastic night feels like a very long time ago.
While the world around us is slowly finding its way back to "normal", we, behind Folkets Haus, are now in a different place in life than we were back then. After more than 40 events over a 5-year span, we decided it was time to channel our energy in other projects.
So, friends, join us for the final round of Folkets Haus! 
One last dance, and then goodbye.
We wouldn't want to go quietly, but decided to do it with a bang. Our final dance will be part of our beloved Folkets Hus' 50 years anniversary - and we can't wait to take over the café one last time.


In the past few days, since we announced this would be the last round of Folkets Haus, we received a large number of messages, questions and comments. Many of these, both online and offline, pointed out that it was sad, that this adventure of ours was coming to an end.
While we understand the sentiment (and share it to a certain degree), when we look back on the past 6½ years (!) and - with this - 42 events (!), we couldn't be happier and prouder of what Folkets Haus has been and has become.
What began as a rough and unfinished concept, turned into a solid format that reached many of the goals that it was set into life to achieve.
Firstly, hundreds of thousands of kroners were channeled to fantastic, radical, revolutionary, inspiring projects. From groups working with asylum and migration, to queer collectives, climate camps, alternative education platforms, racialized activists, international solidarity projects and many more, we are proud to say that our dancefloor energy turned into actual kick-ass projects and real-life change.
Secondly, we like to think that we were part of bridging that gap, that back then we perceived as very deep, between the two "scenes" we felt we belonged to and loved: the activist, autonomous left and the raver scene. The first was presented with electronic music within the house, something that wasn't that common up until then, and with party formats that many might have not known. The second, the "ravers", set foot into Folkets Hus for the first time and got a glimpse of all the people and projects that have been part of the house in the past 50 years.
Lastly, we worked as a playground for heaps of talented, upcoming, local artists - admittedly ourselves among these. Many had their debut or played some of their first gigs at Folkets Haus, and many more, that often were left out of "normal" parties because of, for instance, their gender or sexual orientation, got their turn behind our booth. A huge thank you goes to all of you, who played at our parties during these years 🙌
When we were asked if we wanted to bring Folkets Haus to the café during Folkets Hus 50 years old birthday, we were confronted with the fact that we hadn't talked about Folkets Haus since before the first lockdown. It became clear that our energy had moved to our projects, and that we felt that Folkets Haus had kind of fulfilled its role. Yet, we wouldn't want to let the pandemic swallow us, so that we would disappear without a word. So here we are: going with a bang and a tjack and a bang and a tjack like the best house tune, and with a feeling of satisfaction within us.
We can't wait to celebrate with you tomorrow - we know it will be special ❤
Plus, as Douglas Adams taught us, 42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything else. So it seems pretty appropriate to stop here

This set is dedicated to the brave fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers who are fighting for a better future at Standing Rock.

In the last weeks I've been following the grotesque picturesque but deadly conflict between native tribes of the land and big corporate fusel powers at Standing Rock in Dakota.
I find it hard to bear when I see my brothers and sisters treated in such inhumane ways. And like with a lot of the horrors that are going on around the world, I get deeply moved and wants to do something about it, but often ends in some sort of despair - for what can we do about all these cruelties? Where to start? With escapism into hedonism? Or how shall we be able to turn over this sick system that has infested the world like cancer and infiltrated every aspect of human life.
The nightmare man created and that we all are recreating and supporting every living hour - brings about so immense pain and fatal consequences - that not only is it going to be our own nemesis - if we don’t change our way of life - but it is already eradicating and endangering all the beautiful life on mother earth. Thousands of species have gone extinct because of mans greed, and with literally dozens going extinct every day, we are all part of a monstrous holocaust.
This grim reality and heavy responsibility is very hard to bear or even deal with, but in music with real soul, deep roots and hope, I feel that I am able to proces it in some ways. Other times when I need to immerse myself in the rave to go through some sort of catharsis I feel blessed that we haven’t eradicated dance culture. For in this ancient ritual I feel a stronger connection to source. And it gives me hope when I in these temporary freespace we create together - to a common beat - meets other souls with the same vibe. I feel a deep sense of belonging when I meet with my tribe and immerse myself in the collective catharsis, the cleaning of the soul, the coming together.  A very important step in awakening as one.


This is why I do what I do all day!

Nevertheless there are two boys who live half a continent away and are at the same time as close to us as they could possibly be. It's good to know that there are people around who share the same vision and Geju (@g-e-j-u) definetly work magic when it comes furthering the genre. Their history of countless performances around the globe in combination with them hosting captivating events in their hometown, they truly are two stellar figures in this movement. We couldn't be more happy to present to you their most recent piece of art..

This summer he went for his second Hedoné Seminar, and yet again it blew his mind how free everybody can be, when coming together to celebrate conscious hedonism. For him it really felt like all participants where part of an old Dionysian cult gathering in the woods to perform rituals celebrating the human experience together while indulging in all the pleasures that comes with it.

"It was the first time in my life that I played completely naked… And the thought of doing it, definitely gave some butterflies in the stomach beforehand, but the Naked Tea Party was after all the Workshops, so when we got to it, it actually felt really natural to all dance together naked."

"My absolute highlight, actually of the whole summer, was the after hour session. I’ve never felt a stronger and more synchronised field on a dance floor as that divine morning. Sure it helped with all those amazing musicians joining in and spicing up the dancemusic with real vibrations. It was fully an out of this world experience!
I’m looking very much forward to come back next year and co-create!"
