Mit der EP “Stay” begeben sich 959er & Nomi Solo auf ein akustisches Abenteuer, inspiriert von World Music, Chill Out und Down Tempo. Das Ergebnis ist Dümpeltechno vom Feinsten! 

Der Opening-Track “Stay” wird von einem wabernden Synthie getragen, der mitreißt, ohne dick aufzutragen. Seine technoide Abstammung bemerkt man spätestens durch das Einsetzen der Kickdrum. In der Mitte des Tracks kommt Gänsehautstimmung auf, verursacht durch ein harmonisches Flöten-Thema und dem immer wiederkehrenden Vocal. Abgerundet wird das Stück mit fein eingesetzten Percussions und einem dezenten Summen.

“Am Morgen nach einer durchtanzten Nacht” ist der Auftakt zum zweiten Titel der EP. “Carong” lädt ein zu einer Reise, begleitet von einer klaren Orgel und deepem Synthie-Sound. Sie führt auf einem langen Bogen zum eigentlichen Thema, welches durch sein ausgewogenes Gitarrenspiel besticht. Der Einsatz von traditionellen Shakern und die eingängige Bassline machen den Sound rund und schaffen eine Atmosphäre, die “wieder, und immer wieder” zum Träumen verleitet.

“Listen” wählt eine schnellere Gangart, die das Stück absolut clubtauglich macht. Es schöpft Kraft aus der treibenden Bassline und dem orchestral anmutenden Synthie. Der rollende Charakter wird durch das Zusammenspiel gezielter Rhythmuselemente verstärkt. Nicht zuletzt die dynamischen Steeldrums verleihen dem Stück seinen ganz eigenen Charakter. 

“Jenny” ist das sphärische Schlusswort der EP. Durch das Wechselspiel der langgezogenen Keys und der Gitarrenriffs geraten, mit Hilfe von viel Delay, die Gedanken ins Schweifen. Wieder sind es die präzise inszenierten Percussions, die den Titel einmalig machen. Der Track kommt ohne richtige Bassline aus, das schafft Raum und durch den melancholischen Vocal wandern die Gedanken weiter und weiter.

This EP should give you an insight into one of the freshest producers out there at the moment, the German @lukasendhardt. He grew up among the most diverse kinds of big and small percussion instruments since his father is a Latin jazz percussionist. He always have felt connected to rhythms from cultures that are not his own. In one way or another, it has led a life deep in several rhythms. 
His catalogue includes much-loved work; most obvious thing you will hear is the focus on Brazilian rhythms. Lately Lukas had been very fascinated by the religions based on Yoruba traditions, especially Brazilian Candomblé. By the looks of it, we can understand how Babalaô EP was born. In Yoruba culture Babalaô (Babalawo) is the priest dedicated to the worship of Orunmila-Ifá, epiphany of divination. 
In that light, Lukas has created a work peppered with catchy tunes to provide us a cultural extrapolation. Therefore, this is not just about synthesis between two musical cultures but also between relaxing chill out music and highly energetic themes. All highlighted by his own hallucinogenic filter.
His mother, Burga Endhardt, painted the art that draws the cover. We can notice some similarities between EP & artwork: widely warming, organic taste, kind of surrealness too. It includes different layers, natural forms and shapes. We think that is a picture-perfect match.
Since it is deep, dubby, laid-back but always driving, the four tracks are geared for the dance floor. Nevertheless, certain elements reveal a hidden fringe where Lukas are serving contemplative realness. Besides the three original tracks by Lukas, we also have a penetrating perspective channeled in @arutani’s remix, delivered as a striking extra for the listener.
In short, the EP is a useful indicator for where Lukas is at right now stylistically and reflects as a direct correlation with our motto: slow is the new fast and awesome too

Jonajosu - Time Manipulation

As the final piece of her 25th anniversary, DJ Isis is now presenting her new project ‘Isis & Mozes’ to the world. Their debut EP 'OSTARA' is released April 12th, 2018 at KROOKS Records. OSTARA is the outcome of an intensive collaboration with her new studio partner Mozes.

On OSTARA, Isis & Mozes worked with different musicians, instrumentalists, and vocalists. These are the key ingredients that formed the basis for the compositions made by @isismozes. In addition to the electronic parts of the compositions, Isis & Mozes used different types of instruments featuring Mozes on guitar and Isis on vocals.

Besides their own compositions, one of the tracks on OSTARA is produced in collaboration with colleague-producer and dj: @tripjag. In addition, the producers-trio @yorkultura made a hefty remix of their track Aerial for the EP. More info on the EP: www.krooks-records.com/album/isismozes-ostara
