I think it’s safe to say that the last three mixes in this series have been a narrative of some particularly tumultuous times in my life. At this point I’m happy to say that I’m feeling mentally and physically healthier than I have been in the last three years. Getting a grip on my vices and making healthier choices with my time has recharged my batteries, and having this pandemic shit somewhat wrapping up - I’m feeling more motivated than ever to get back to the music. 
I also wanna dedicate this mix to to all the incredible souls that we’ve lost in the past year. Some of the brightest lights have left us and it’s truly been heartbreaking for so many of us. So tell your people you love them and don’t take anything for granted.

Le contournement spirituel décrit une tendance à utiliser des explications spirituelles pour éviter des problèmes psychologiques complexes.

Le terme a été inventé pour la première fois au début des années 1980 par un psychothérapeute transpersonnel nommé John Welwood dans son livre Toward a Psychology of Awakening. Selon Welwood, le contournement spirituel peut être défini comme une « tendance à utiliser des idées et des pratiques spirituelles pour contourner ou éviter de faire face à des problèmes émotionnels non résolus, à des blessures psychologiques et à des tâches de développement inachevées »

En tant que thérapeute et enseignant bouddhiste, Welwood a commencé à remarquer que les gens (y compris lui-même) utilisaient souvent la spiritualité comme un bouclier ou une sorte de mécanisme de défense. Plutôt que de travailler sur des émotions difficiles ou d’affronter des problèmes non résolus, les gens les rejetaient simplement avec des explications spirituelles.

Bien qu’il puisse s’agir d’un moyen de se protéger ou de promouvoir l’harmonie entre les gens, il ne résout pas réellement le problème. Au contraire, elle ne fait qu’occulter le problème, le laissant s’envenimer sans qu’il ne soit véritablement résolu.

Si la spiritualité peut être une force qui contribue à améliorer le bien-être d’une personne, le fait de la contourner pour éviter des sentiments ou des problèmes compliqués peut en fin de compte étouffer la croissance.
