Pyramid returns to Hot Cakes packing some serious heat. First up, the boys get the fire burning with 'Stick Up', a track that's heavy on the beats.  A thick, relentless drum line beats through the speakers as Ivory and Rubi Dan lay down the flow. The synth line cuts straight through, layering just the right amount of funk and filth to keep that bass face nasty. Following up with 'Only You' in classic Pyramid fashion, getting things started with a sweet sounding vocal, and a colossal chunky breakdown you won't be ready for the bassbin annihilation that happens when the bassline hits. This what Pyramid does best, rich and full bassline business and beat smacking breaks.

Froe, Gav and Merf made up the nu-skool breaks collective The Breakfastaz, known in the early 2000's for their unique sound and a heavy hitter in the Tear Out Breaks scene at that time. With other musical projects going on later in their careers the lads gained a huge following leading them touring the world, releasing over 20 successful tracks and remixes for top labels such as Passenger, Mob & Against The Grain. In 2005 the Breakfastaz won Best Breakthrough Act at the Breakspoll World Breakbeat Awards.

This mix was recorded for Australia's Triple J Radio network back in July 2007.

Based in St. Petersburg, Russia Lady Waks aka Alexandra Waks is a force to be reckoned with in the electronic music scene. It all started in 1999 with her Hip Hop show on St. Petersburgs biggest radio station, Radio Record. Then in 2000 she left to focus her energies into promoting and creating the now well known brand >In Beat We Trust<. Recognition came in 2004, when Time Out magazine voted it best club night. IBWT has hosted just about every big Breakbeat DJ in the world. Lady Waks then went into create Breaks Arena, the worlds first Breakbeat Festival. Lady Waks has since toured the world multiple times and has had various releases on different labels, she still continues to promote the gospel of Breaks to her adoring fans and produces a Breakbeat show on Russia's Radio Record.
