Parisian label Skryptöm continue with a persistent release schedule following an album from fellow French artist by Maxime Dangles titled Chanfleury. Soon available will be the second remix that includes reimagined versions of his originals by Remco Beekwilder, Wlderz, Xl.iks, Maëlstrom, and Giselh.

Flying high is Dutchman Remco Beekwilder who not only runs his EMERALD imprint, but can be found contributing tracks and remixes to labels such as Dax J’s Monnom Black, Exos’ Planet X and Cleric’s Clergy amongst others.

For this DT:Premiere we selected Remco’s remix of “Gigi” that has a patient intro of ambience before the rolling toms and kick take over. Carved and well-sculpted percussion provide the driving force, while being met with dreamy pads, vocal chants and a poignant mood.

On March 2020 the world was abruptly thrown into collective disarray. The pandemic stopped almost everything dead in its tracks. No social gatherings, self-isolation, a sense of panic and bewilderment prevailed. An industry that had become so dependent on human connection and unity, was suddenly switched off and put on pause for an unforeseeable future.

It was in this climate that The Louder Than Chaos project was born, facilitated by Soma Records’ head honchos and Techno protagonists Slam. A collaborative project with friends, colleagues and contemporaries normally only seen at airports, or events, now brought together under a completely different set of circumstances, allowing for a purposeful connection in a time of disconnect. The focus of the project is built on a powerful mutual participation, remotely constructed over time and fully intended for holding court on peak time dance floors when they inevitably return. That time has now finally come.

The Louder Than Chaos project is a series of 5 releases, on 12 vinyl” & Digital, to be released monthly via Soma Records. Featuring collaborations between Slam & Hector Oaks, Slam & 999999999, Slam & Keith Tucker (AKA Optic Nerve), Slam & Amelie Lens, Slam & Rebekah, Slam & AnD and finally Slam & Perc.

Each EP features specially commissioned artwork from German based artist PPP Panic, which consolidates into one constructive piece over the 5 releases.

Opening Volume 1, Slam pair with Italian rave starters 999999999 for Conveyor. Arguably one of the hardest tracks in the project, both artists combine to unleash a furious and twisted acid techno stomper. Madrid born, vinyl enthusiast Hector Oaks is next up, joining Slam on a proper, attitude filled techno excursion with Pathfinder; its heady melodic elements mask a driving and potent track. Detroit originator Optic Nerve helps Slam to close out the EP with the Motor City electronics of Machine Conflict. Early Slam influence mixes perfectly with the Detroit native’s unique electro sound.

Ever since the dawn of time, humanity has been gravitating ever closer to the stars. This unknowable dark mass above us, hiding it’s secrets just barely outside our reach. But what does it actually hide?
Desolate Rocks?
Or a life that is far superior to ours?

SEELEN. Labelhead JANEIN finally descends from his homeworld, to show us some of the universes hidden mysteries and infect us with the Alien Love Syndrome on his Debut EP. 

The title track, can aptly be compared to the doors of his spacecraft opening. Loud hisses and shrill bleeps spill from within to reveal blinding lights and shadowy inhuman structures. Then, as the fog lifts, the onlookers mind is shattered by the overwhelming experience. Arpeggios that twist and turn into each other, the blurping sounds of the cockpit mixing in, decorated with kickdrums heavy enough to terraform Mars. 

Leaving the ship, JANEIN then begins teaching us his numerical language on 1129514, his native tongue for “Alien”. Distinctly foreign sounding it catches the listeners ear with it’s hypnotizing sharpness and airy hisses.

And though it is almost unintelligible, Berghain resident of the first hour, Fiedel and Seelen’s own Inhalt der Nacht took it upon themselves to translate the strange syllables.

Both taking very different approaches, Fiedel noticed that by changing the rhythm and focusing on the languages hiss, you can arrive at a very intellectual yet still romantic version of the original that seems like it’s interstellar message is one of peace.

Meanwhile, Inhalt Der Nacht has decided to completely reconstruct the sounds, mixing them with his own, making a heavy sounding, banging creation in the process.
But it is impossible to know what the true intent of the space-traveler is.

Because before we know it, the Unknown Flying Object has left once again.

Leaving the listener with only a distant longing for the stars, infected by the Alien Love Syndrome.

EXHALE is the latest label launch from Belgian phenom Amelie Lens and also linked to the event series of the same name. The first instalment sees the release of a fifteen track compilation with artists such as Regal, Obscure Shape & SHDW, Klangkuenstler, Antigone and many more contributing to the project.

Paris-based François X is a much revered producer and has a quality over quantity output that has seen his music land on Oscar Mulero’s PoleGroup, DJ Deep’s Deeply Rooted, Insolate’s Out of Place and Taapion for example.

For this DT:Premiere we selected his track “Clarity Bell” that steps outside the usual box and into more of an experimental state as such. Fusing menacing, abstract string samples with dreamy aesthetics he creates a haunting atmosphere of suspense and leftfield tones with a raw and driving undertone.
