ECSTATIC DANCE SSC 2.26.23

This is a two-hour set recorded on Friday July 28th for Ecstatic Dance San Jose. This set is very special to me! Perhaps my favorite set so far that I have created. This journey travels from heartbeat to heartbeat through medicine mantra, dowtempo instrumental, into lots of drums and organic tribal to climax with a lil' funk hunters remix. It lands back down into beauty and eventually the heartbeat where it started. It's eclectic. As a reflected on the set after creating it the name came to me.  Underneath it all we're just a beating heart. My suggestion is to set your intention and let yourself be moved by the heartbeats of the set and your own. Enjoy! Tosca is the joint musical project of Richard Dorfmeister and Rupert Huber from Vienna, Austria. Their output - including albums like "Opera“ (1996), "Suzuki“ (1999), "Dehli 9“ (2002) and "No Hassle" (2010) are considered milestones of the downtempo genre. The musical trademark of Tosca is a cheerful laid-back feel that emanate a warm, and occasionally melancholic atmosphere. The music of Tosca is played in clubs and living rooms, boutiques and wineries alike. A feat that only few musicians succeed in.

In Scandinavia people need an excuse to go out on a weekday. There is always some bingo night on a Monday, a pubquiz on Tuesdays and they even call Wednesday 'Little Saturday' just to sneak into a bar without having a bad conscience. In that regard I wonder what has happened with Thursday? That has always been the most fun day of the week for me. Thursday, the forgotten day of the week. Like the middle child in a family that didn't get all the attention like the older one, but didn't get spoiled like the youngest either. In that regard I should have been born on a Thursday instead of Sunday. Anyways.. this mix was recorded live on the island where more sheep rave than people. On International Sloth Day in fact, so expect a downtempo decelerating mix. Lean back, relax and enjoy the beats of Little Sunday.

Tiny Giant is a Hanoi-based live music duo featuring the deep vocal musings of LinhHafornow and the electronic sounds of Tomes. 

Their music combines live beat production and layers of vocal looping. Through digital manipulation of organic elements, the band blends traditional tonality with contemporary sonic environments.
