A Darker Tomorrow: The Machine By The Ghost In The Machine https://theghostinthemachine2.bandcamp.com/album/the-machine this story is about a post apocalyptic world where shanty towns cover a good portion of the planet and most of population dies off. those who survive become violent and turn against one another leaving humanity truly broken. Then a group of underground scientists, desperately trying to find an answer, develop a robot with the most advanced mind ever created. hoping it will analyze the situation and give them a clear solution, its sees the corrupt residue that we have left behind and decides the most rational,moral, and proper thing to do is put everyone out of their misery and rebuild the world as one ,mechanical heart. however the scientists fear his logic and deny the possibility of the robot having a soul and decide to shut him down before he can act. though this works for awhile, he eventually evolves to control himself and he escapes the underground facility only to find the ruins of the outside world. he then comes back and massacres the scientists and proceeds to implant his own data into everything living thing on the planet. only to find out in the lonely world he has created that he has a soul, but whats the point of soul living alone
