When Simenga subbed to Kyle’s Patreon page over a year ago, Kyle knew he was one to keep a beady eye on (not in a creepy, weird way).

Born in Greece and calling Germany his home, Simenga is a wizard of warm drums and a certified wrangler of hefty basslines. Both records on this EP showcase his strengths on both fronts, keeping the energy sky-high while perfectly moulding rolling basslines with industrial percussion, big drums and complex rhythms.

Signing our first external artist to No Context was never going to be easy, but these records from Simenga set the perfect precedent and we’re gassed to have him.

We feel extremely privileged as our favourite Frenchman returns with another absolute heater! XTC is a straightforward club or festival tune. Its driving bass, hypnotic synth, and repetitive vocals, topped off with the rolling rides, make you want to move all night long.

@holocene_1 has been doing the rounds with releases on @sonnyfodera's '@solotoko', @flashmob-dj's '@flashmobrecords', @the-deepshakerz '@safelabel', and not to forget us at Dtuned Records. He has been pushing out a number of tunes, and we cannot wait to see where his journey takes him!

The b-side of the release features our own South African cool cat, @casismusic. @casismusic reworked the tune into a melodic mover with rhythmic percussions and electronic leads; we can't forget his vocoder work on the vocal tied together with the emotive piano. @casismusic always pushes the boundaries while retaining his own unique sound.

This man needs no introduction, but we’ll give him one anyway - we have one of this year’s favourite 'BOC-Boys' Simenga back in the hot seat! With a production output faster and stronger than a Daft Punk hit record, he has delivered yet ANOTHER 3 track EP worthy of the most hyped dance floors.

The Be Alright EP starts off with the chunky monster of a record Fine Days, a journey from strange to weird that takes a bunch of unexpected turns while keeping the groove locked with a super infectious vocal cut. The flip has you closing your eyes and grinding your teeth with Satisfaction, a wobbly submerged techno romper. Please let us add that this is the first time the word 'satisfaction' has been used correctly since Benny Benassi.

The final track Turn is really where our heads start to explode. How can one producer have so much talent to nail a funky house record too? Nothing is out of reach for this guy and we love it. We wanna smother ourselves in Simenga butter and go sliding around the house.

There is absolutely no doubt Simenga is going to have a massive 2024, and let this one absolutely destroy floors for you this coming holiday period!

We are welcoming Sergik to Artichokes Are Yellow for the first time with a danceable minimalist tech EP called 'Have To Dance'. The first track on the EP, 'Can't Kill My Vibe' is a groovy vocal-friendly tech house track with driving sub bass and droning sirens/synths that fill out the song. The vibes are high and the track is heavy-hitting, bring this track out to your local car dealership today. The b side 'Have To Dance' is simply demanding you to dance I don't know what to tell you. The track has a moving bassline perfectly in key with melodic ear candy and keys that move up and down throughout the track. Each part is holding its own rhythmical melody creating a proper groove that will keep you dancing.

What’s coming out of the speakers is almost impossible to comprehend, and as you look around at everyone moving you just know this record is one to pay attention to.

Today we are welcoming back one of the pioneers to the Box of Cats sound (even though she might not know it), Mz Worthy. Her latest cut Make Me is peak time festival shit. A big warped acid bass and catchy vocal cuts in and out of an absolute menace of a kick drum. There's something about this that really throws us back to the electro house days. Each element has been crafted perfectly, not overcooked - just the way a dance record should be.

Our froth levels are at 11 for this one, and if we aren't careful we may need to sit down. Get around this asap!

How long have you been creating music? 

I started aimlessly playing around in Ableton in 2018. I was 100% stuck in the "loop phase" until I attended one of Justin Jay's FREE online production courses in November of 2022 when I finished my first track (it was a horrible remix of 'Popular' from Broadway's Wicked...lol). So I started creating actual music about a year ago :)

What do you use to make your tracks?

I use Ableton Live 11 Suite!

How and when did you first discover Dirtybird? 

I first discovered Dirtybird from seeing Justin Martin at Venue 578 in Orlando, Florida about 7 years ago! I've been completely hooked ever since! 

Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most? 

I've tried to narrow it down to just one - but I really can't choose between Nala, Steve Darko, Justin Jay, and of course Claude VonStroke. I'm endlessly inspired by the four of them in very different and unique ways. 

If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you? 

Living on the Fine Line Between Delusion and Optimism

What's the best concert you've ever been to? 

Oh this is a tricky one! It has to be a tie between One Direction in Indianapolis, 2015 (this was their last tour :"( - 1D FOR LIFE!!) and Downtempo Night of Tipper's 3-night run at Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, 2020. 

If you could time travel, where and when would you go? 

I would go back to 2012, the year I started high school, to tell my past self the things that would end up being most important to me - and to focus on those goals rather than what society attempts to shape us into at such a young age. I'd also tell myself "No Brendan, you can't pretend to be straight your entire life - come out of the closet now...you'll be much happier" (LOL)

What species of bird best describes you and why? 

I'd have to say the Scarlet Macaw! I had a summer job as a bird handler at an aquarium when I was a teenager. My best friend that summer was Cici, a Scarlet Macaw. I loved that bird so much and I felt like we were very in-tune with one another. I still miss her to this day! 

What does Dirtybird mean to you? 

My entire life revolves around music - and not to be dramatic (lol), but Dirtybird is kind of like home to me! There's a consistent and undeniable feeling of community and love with pretty much every Dirtybird event! Rather it be a Dirtybird artist on tour, or an entire festival - the music always brings me to "that place" of euphoria. I'm extremely honored and grateful to be releasing music on Birdfeed!
