Introducing the second ever solo release from Soldat, in the form of a double-sided single. 2 dancefloor weapons of a melodic influence, serving as love letters to other styles within dance music and Drum & Bass itself.

‘RAVE CITY’ takes inspiration from classic French house and is translated into a funky roller, fitted perfect for a DJ set or for the early-noughties rush of a listener. The use of house loops throughout the track is supported by punchy drums, groovy basslines, classic drum & bass risers and a sublime breakdown - all rolled into one for an ultimate disco sound.

‘2097’ pays homage to a late-90’s liquid jungle/drum & bass sound, more specifically in an area that’s described as ‘playstation funk’. Hidden away as a project file for 6 years, Soldat unleashes a more laid-back roller fusing elements of jazz samples, classic breaks and deep double-bass notes.

Sometimes the night doesn’t roar—it unfolds. You walk into the room with a weekday’s weight on your shoulders, and the music starts speaking to you in private. That’s how Discovered begins. It isn’t about spectacle; it’s about recognition—the warm note you’ve been carrying inside, finally audible. A small light in the chest, a steadier step, a glance that meets another and doesn’t slip away. The melody comes closer without asking for explanations, and every drum hit feels less like a command and more like reassurance: “I’m here. I feel.” The room gathers into a single breath. In that breath, a simple truth surfaces: you are in the right place.

Lose Control continues the same line, only deeper. Letting go here isn’t a fall—it’s trust. You allow the rhythm to carry you the way water carries the body, and suddenly you notice there is no abyss at all. There’s the warmth of people around you, voices that don’t crowd but hold you up, and a bass you can safely set your heart upon. Your shoulders grow lighter; an invisible burden lifts—the very weight that kept you from embracing the world a little tighter. And if tears edge in for a second, they’re not weakness. They’re proof that you’re alive again.

Two sides of one honest emotion: to find yourself and to dare not to hold everything together. In this pair of tracks, Punchman speaks in a language beyond words—where clarity turns into freedom, and freedom into a gentleness toward yourself and others. Discovered / Lose Control reaches the depth where music doesn’t crush or “save” you; it quietly returns you to yourself. That is DEEPNAS: strength below, light above, and between them—a heart at last, clearly heard.

Alongside the early 2000 vibes and a sound which has dominated Europe’s drum & bass world recently, Sinister Souls bring their own unique twist from a huge musical spectrum. Already a well-known name within their hometown Utrecht, these artists have covered a range of genres before they came together as a duo, from dubstep too industrial hardcore. And with this experience they’ve adapted their own take on your traditional 174bpm format, one which will certainly stand out against the floods of music available online.

With support from the likes of underground overlords Counterstrike and quick-fire turntablist Dieselboy, their titanic slabs of bass have certainly been making the club rounds. Whether it’s played out by fellow artists or during their own time behind the decks in countries across the globe (including debut shows in the US and Canada) they’re sure to be recognizable amongst the scene’s diligent fan base. They create their own vision for electronic music, taking inspiration from a background which stretches into the furthest corners of its ingenuity.

Their first LP ‘Beat the Drum Hard’ was released in 2012 on PRSPCT and this follow up single kick-starts their earlier energy. That’s immediately clear with ‘Darkside’, named after the fictional supervillain from DC’s universe… And it’s easy to see why. There’s a clear affirmation of their hardcore roots, with a buildup that’s fist pumpingly heavy. A groove then grasps your sweaty, anticipating palms following a climatic drop; each sub quake submerges you even further into its arrangement. Comic book sample snippets protrude between every segment that allows you to collect yourself. However, you’re not given long before once again the track explodes with carefully articulated stabs. ‘Darkside’ certainly delivers if you’re looking for a harder fix.

On the reverse, you’re met with heavy distortion and grating snare. Sinister Souls take you back out into the murkier waters, this time fronted by MC Mike Redman, who’s interesting vocal style compliments the lumbering half-time bassline. ‘My Soul is Sinister’ definitely channels hip hop’s stylistic features, before it breaks down the tempo which is switched up dramatically. With this track, Sinister Souls are still the producers you know and love, but it’s a refreshing direction to find them going down. A direction their sure to continue pursuing for their forthcoming releases.

Counterstrike is back on the collaboration tip with 4 heavyweight cuts. Synthakt provides devastating remix treatment on Gein and Counterstrike's classic Pentagram. Cooh and Counterstrike step it out with Reanimate. Limewax and Counterstrike drop some snares down the stairs with Ultraviolet. Finally, Gein returns after a brief hiatus with a heavy remix of Synthakt and Counterstrike's I Believe.
