‘The Full Moon EP’ sees Philth & Wreckless join forces for a project created during two sessions at Philth’s studio. With their solo work making up some of our favourite tracks on the label, this combination of artists makes the EP quite special. 

Sharing a love of classic breakbeats and 1999 tech rollers, they made a conscious decision not to over-polish the mixes - keeping the raw edge to the drums and dirty bass textures. Aiming to bring back the rough feel of their favourite older tunes, with arrangements that roll out for the DJ's. 

During these sessions Wreckless noticed that it was a ‘Full Moon’, just as the title track was taking shape - a drum led track that grows and develops throughout, balancing layers of subtle additions to the driving weight of the tune.   

These concepts are reflected in the artwork, with the 'tech moon' representing the meeting of rugged natural sounds and modern technology.

Spanish duo Dub Elements are certainly no strangers to the world of drum & bass. With releases on nearly every major label, consistent support from industry tastemakers ranging from Spor to Excision, and over a decade experience in not just production but events all over the world, Antonio Cano & Jose Luis Vazquez have known nothing but success over the years. Long-time friends of Futurebound and the Viper family, their debut release ‘Real Dogs’ on 2016’s Summer Slammers compilation was met with critical acclaim, hotly followed with singles like ‘Heartbeat’, ‘Bad Guy’, ‘Black Fog’, and many more, all living up to the Dub Elements hype.
Now, 2021 will see the release of a brand new EP from the Spanish madmen, and it goes by the name of Mindshaker. Packed with four brand new tracks, Dub Elements deliver the gritty and raw drum & bass they’ve become known for over the years, masterfully blending neurofunk with dancefloor energy that has found its perfect home on Viper.
Opening track ‘Raw’ delivers pure, unadulterated filth, beckoning the gnarliest of bass faces with every beat. The title track ‘Mindshaker’ is full of classic wobbles and rumbling basslines, accompanied by familiar MC bars that instantly transport us deep in the rave. The cleverly titled ‘Neofunk’ is a refreshing take on the genre, full of juxtaposed highs and lows and a frenzied energy that is as creative as it is chaotic. Last but not least, ‘Vacuum’ shows us Dub Element’s softer side… but not for long. An elegant opening lures you in before Dub Elements deliver a decimating dose of dirty drops with a classic jungle twist that makes it a sure standout on the EP.
Carnal rave energy wrapped up in a neat four-track package, Mindshaker is an EP you won’t want to sleep on, and a phenomenal addition to the ever-growing Viper catalogue, not to mention a strong indication of what’s in store for the label in 2021.

BEHOLD: The brand new EXCLUSIVE Korsakov Music signee SOVRYN, formerly known as Barely Royal.

Under the Barely Royal moniker, Charles Broom achieved major successes in bass house including multiple UKF uploads, regular radio support, millions of plays across his varied productions and shows supporting Chase & Status, Charlie XCX and Wilkinson on top of multiple big tours. To just name a few things.

Now, having seen all he felt he needed to see under his former name, he decided he needed a change, and the Sovryn project was born. Over 2 years in the making, the next years look to be huge for Charles with releases lined up all the way into the end of 2022 and even a debut album and loads of high profile collabs and remixes in the making.

Static Vision is the perfect encapsulation of everything Sovryn is about: beautiful melodies, catchy hooks, impeccable vocals, heavy basslines, balls to the wall sound design and frankly just plain fun. Whether it's the beautiful liquid journey on Somebody New ft. Ruth Royall, the idyllic harmonies seeping into vile bass patches on Static Vision all the way to the straightforward murderation on both Invasion and the neuro / jump up hybrid closer Everybody, Sovryn's debut release has truly got it all.
