By the drop, volatile breakbeats have come into play, stuttering and stopping unpredictably and making use of atypical drum programming to bring a breath of fresh air to a familiar style. Topped off with spluttering, mechanical synths that yo-yo around the scale with a feverish intensity, it’s an inventive composition, leaning into sci-fi sensibilities to create an immersive listening experience that showcases yet another string to CZA’s bow.
