The Russian returns to close down 2015 in style as he delivers the first single to be taken from his forthcoming sophomore LP, ‘Rituals’, due out on Critical early in December. Keeping us guessing, Enei throws a curveball with the dulcet tones of Charli Brix rolling over lead track ‘Just One Look’ whilst ‘Bad Proof’ takes us firmly into the warped sci-fi arena, perfect for smashing the most ardent of dance floors. With the enormous VIP mix of ‘Prometheus’ also included all eyes now raise to the new album.

Since releasing his last full-length LP S.P.Y has filled mountains of hard-drives with sketches, VIPs, bootlegs and tear-out weapons for his regular top spots on drum & bass line-ups across the world. With a clear vision ahead, he’s selected the best of the bunch for a triple hit of ‘Alone In The Dark’ EPs. The second chapter, ‘EP:2’ is a flawless unfolding of his genius that once again cements S.P.Y as a leading member of the Hospital Records roster.

Opening with pure S.P.Y production is ‘Termination’, an eerie tale through slow build-ups and that thick, menacing S.P.Y sub buzz. A trickling lead piano matches up with old-school powerhouse vocals in ‘Get Up’. Then there's ‘Shadow Play’ that reaches for more of that definitive dancefloor aggression, sure to draw out crowds from every corner.

On the flip side there's ‘Cold Wave’ that brings a techy tornado bassline, a metallic snare and siren synths. Joining S.P.Y’s mission is Inja with his quick-fire lyricism on ‘Mind Over Matter’, made for mind-warping straight into the darker hours.

S.P.Y is hitting 2017 with serious impact, already the aptly named ‘producer’s producer’ has dived in with Beatport chart-topping tracks like ‘Alone In The Dark’ and the Mixmag supported ‘Soldiers’. Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2010, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, a few years in to the game, Skankandbass decides to take on the role of a record label to put together a series of free download singles which aims to further help spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

We’re very excited to propel Deadline to the forefront with their debut single release ’Through Your Eyes / Bitter’ as premiered on BBC Radio 1 and Noisia Radio respectively. Pete and Ollie set up the project in March 2016 and have already become Skankandbass residents for our live events as well as Shogun Audio. Having made their international and Fabric debuts in 2017, 2018 will be their biggest year yet.
