Spanish self-taught producer RootsyBeats has been playing keyboard in many local and international reggae bands since 1980, sharing the stage with artists like Macka B, Mad Professor, Alpha Blondy, I Roy, Skarra Mucci just to name a few. Recently and with the rise of the internet and the ease that it offers to meet new people, he started to collaborate with artists from all over the world, composing and producing his own music.

Spiritual Calling, is a beautiful mix of relaxing sounds produced by RootsyBeats who with these fresh sounds mixes his rack with the beautiful melodies from the Colombian artist Dub Idren, already known to Dubophonic fans through his works Roots Strong and Mystical Valley with UK producer I-niverse, giving it a very tropical and sunny touch, calling for union and peace internal. This is our new call, a spiritual call!

RootsyBeats Meets Dub Idren - Spiritual Calling

Producer Matt Interrupt from Reggae Roast soundsystem has teamed up with south London MCs Deemas J and Mista Jago for their upcoming full length album ‘We Don’t Stop’ which is due for release in late April 2023 on Interrupt Music.

The first single Rollercoaster Ride releases on March 31st, and features Deemas J taking the lead vocal in falsetto style reminiscent of singers such as Junior Murvin and Cedric Congo. The lyrics talk of the struggles of life in the ghetto and the perpetual cycle of poverty that faces many youths growing up in situations of economic hardship - The ‘Rollercoaster Ride’ of poverty which so many try to escape from.

Deemas J’s unique vocal style is complemented with Mista Jago’s ragga influenced MC style, telling the tale of Johnny, a ghetto youth stuck in a perpetual cycle of poverty and crime.

Produced by Interrupt, with additional production from Joy (King’s Hifi), the two producers have teamed up to build an updated version of the ‘Hey Mr Cop’ riddim, featuring a deep and heavy bassline on a tough minor key digital style riddim, along with a heavyweight dub version.
