It’s a dark, marching bassline atmospheric dub that came looking for a showdown with any and all soundbwoys. **Warning Please Handle with Caution. One Time é uma faixa de reggae otimista e consciente baseada em unidade, um povo, um sangue, uma bandeira.
Apresentando doces vocais brasileiros da cantora Madha e um contagiante reggae riddim de Dub Tropico, esta é uma faixa para o verão, feita no Brasil, mas feita para boas vibrações onde quer que você esteja quando a ouvir.
É uma partida muito diferente da última faixa do Dub Tropico (Hi Noon dub), um dub oscuro, mais eletrônico que recebeu muitos elogios da crítica. Desta vez, queríamos fazer uma boa faixa vocal de verão, mas ainda projetada com um grave incrível para o seu carro ou o maior sistema de som de um festival.
One Time só foi tocada em eventos pelo Dub Tropico como um dubplate exclusivo até agora!

One Time

One Time is a summery, upbeat and catchy reggae track with conscious lyrics. Vocals are by Madha, a Brazilian singer with a sweet voice and conscious lyrics.
It's already had a lot of Radio play in the UK including BBC radio and Junior T's radio show. You can catch our music video on Music Box TV and YouTube. 
Our last track High Noon dub was a much more dark electronic dub track, this time we came back with something upbeat but still concious. If you listen hard it's got soul elements, dub, reggae, dancehall. It's a melting pot of styles but a real reggae track for sure.

We rarely do a mixed bag set but this is a rare one live from the infamous Vinil do Mustafa record shop in Rio de Janeiro. Reggae and dub of course is represented but we have hiphop, soul and some jungle thrown in there too. All vinyl set. Gets a bit quiet right at the end when the cops tried to shut us down hahaha.

Rise and Step, the latest release by Dub Tropico is definitely NOT your average Steppers or Dub Track! It's a Pied Piper's call for mass skanking in the dance, all moving as one. It features a very unusual instrument called an Acordina (a cross between the sound of an accordian and the playability of a melodica, Augustus Pablo style), played by France's Graysokker who has been storming through Europe with his big Electronic Accordion concerts and arsenal of foot pedals! 

Next up, adding more spice to the pot is Germany's Stephan Maass who is known for using a room full of percussion instruments, some of which you've never seen before in your life! He uses everything from palm leaves and plastic hoses to Brazilian and African percussion instruments to create new sounds and atmosphere that make this track really pop! 

Also we have Brazil's Gabriel Ruy who adds the bass guitar and a really nice little surprise blues guitar solo at the end. All mixed down at 39d Studios in Rio de Janeiro by the one and only Juan O Mago. And finally mastered by Precise Mastering for pristine sound.
Rise and Step was made for Soundsystem vibes, Steppers style but with some real surprises, real instruments and a very low frequency bassline.

It's a dub version by Brazilian Dub Master Buguinha Dub. It features the beautiful vocals of ladies from the Vila Isabel samba school from Rio de Janeiro and was devised in the studio by us and Grammy award winnning Dj Da Lua. This one is special as it has deep Brazilian roots, exploring Afro Brazilian religion. Haunting harmonies exhalting the deity Exu and heavy dub basslines dominate this dub version.💥💥💥

Never Sell your Soul by Dub Tropico takes you on a trip in the time machine along with Dub Grandmaster Buguinha outta Brazil. It's a track which has echoes of our late 90's influences like 4hero, a bit of Triphop, and Bristol sounds and Dub with a haunting mantra by Madha. Big Analog Tape Dub Vibe from Buguinha which really pushes the sub bass on your speakers! And some really nice rich layers all mixed down by Juan O Mago at 39D studios here in Rio.

We wanted to evoke some of it but also keep it fresh and engineer it bass heavy with all the modern and analogue studio techniques and equipment that now allow you to push things sonically.

Greetings! Dub Tropico is represented by DJ Relic, a Reggae and Dub DJ and artist based outta Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Our music has been featured by Don Letts on his BBC Radio6 Culture clash show, JKenzo's Subtle Fm show and Zam Zam Sounds show on Rinse FM. We have played live to crowds of 20,000 at festivals like the Paraty Jazz festival in Brazil. Our DJ sets are vinyl only with an archive of over 25 years of digging. One Love.
