I made this song during quarantine. I tried to make a song to evoke a feeling of being lonely because I haven't left my house for months other than to go to work. I was inspired by Passion Pit's song "inner Dialogue" a lot when I made this because I my vison was similar to it. I spent months working on it to make sure it was perfect. this is one of my favorite songs I ever made.

the instrumental started off being inspired by the piano part of musician by porter robinson but as i kept working on it, it became more synthwavey

this song is about wanting to get along with people who you once had beef with now that we are adults and shouldn't be holding grudges over stuff from high school.

this song is about the frustration of when people aren't communicating with you, specifically about plans to hang out. 

the instrumental was inspired by the end credits song from the cat returns. when i heard it for the first time i knew i had to try and make something that sounded similar

the instrumental was inspired by "that's what you get" by paramore. the hook is just so addicting i knew i had to make something similar

also happy mens mental health month. it was completely unintentional to release this in june so i guess the stars aligned just right. 

i liked the idea of having a song start chill and progressively adding more elements as things went on and that's how the instrumental was born

kaitlyn and i have been friends since high school and i always wanted to do a song with her because i liked hearing her sing to songs in the car so this collab was a long time coming

one thing kaitlyn and i have in common is that we were both neurodivergent kids growing up and had a hard time socializing because of it and we wanted to make a song inspired by those experiences. 

i wanted to make an instrumental around the idea of making "ticking" plucks.

Vanilla

This was the first song I made after an intense creative struggle. After I made my last song "Falling" I felt like it was my best song yet and that I had to make something even better than that. I couldn't make anything new for at least a month until one day I got an idea for these cool chords in my head when I was laying in my bed at night and the rest was history. Also this is the first 2020 release (and probably the last) that was actually recorded in 2020.

Originally this song was going to be more bass heavy but when I made the chords I decided it would be more mellow. I had the idea for the chords in my head for a while. This was also the first song I made when quarantine started.
