Returning with his side project, ALASKA, with which Garnier released previously as early as
1993 and most recently 8 years ago in 2002, ‘It’s Just Muzik’ is pure dancefloor magic,
featuring two cuts of epic craftmanship that we have come to expect and love from
Laurent Garnier.
The leading track is a brooding ten minutes monster, apocalyptic from the outset and set
off with the recurring vocal, ‘It’s Just Muzik’. True to the statement this is a simple, honest
and mind-blowing production. ‘Stargazing’ is its dreamy sister, playing out other worldly
atmospheres to truly cosmic effect. The result is a sincere Garnier package, shamelessly
larger-than-life and endlessly impressive.
“I made 'It's just music" for my live shows as some kind of an answer to the first track of the
live show called ‘No Musik’,” explains Laurent, “the reaction was so strong from the crowd
that I decided to release it as a single.”

Serving up their next techno morsel on both vinyl and digitally, !Organism turn to Bodyscrub for a hot new single that comes complete with remixes from Rocco Caine, Manic Brothers and Leghau.

Bodyscrub is an Italian who has been into electronic music since the nineties, releasing on Phobiq, Driving Forces Recordings, MB Elektronics, 1605 and many others, as well as being a regular on !Organism.

In original form, ‘Insane and Trapped’ is a no messing techno stomper with hard-hitting kicks, big rattling chords and lots of tumultuous synth action that adds texture and tension to the track. It’s a peak time, floor-slaying monster that will blow heads clean off and comes with three great remixes.

German electro and techno talent Rocco Caine goes first. The four-deck wizard chops the track up into something much more broken beat and lumpy. It rocks back and forth with spooky ambiance far off in the distance. Eventually some heavyweight dub techno chords join the party and add yet more depth and scale to the already arresting track.

Next up, Mats and Niclas Ljusberg—together known as Sweden’s Manic Brothers—have seen their driving, house-tinged techno productions on Drumcode, Soma and Sleaze wind up on the hard drives of DJs like Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Sven Väth and Nicole Moudaber. They only arrived in 2012 but on the evidence of this spritely, future sounding remix have lots to offer. It’s an engaging affair with a moody atmosphere pervading a stripped back and serious groove.

Finally, Frenchman Leghau of respected labels like Trapez, Analytictrail and Len Faki’s imprint, Figure, then offers his version. It’s a deep, rolling and hypnotic affair that gets into your brain and stays there for the duration.

Once again here !Organism are leading the techno world from the very front.

Israeli producer Yotam Avni is back with a fresh cut of uplifting, inspirational dance-floor music, along the same lines as some of the killer cuts he's produced for the likes of Robsoul, Be As One and Osunlade's Yoruba records imprint. Weaving elements of Detroit techno, jacking Chicago house and deep atmospheres, Yotam Avni's productions - either under his own name or pseudonyms - Avadon and Jersey Real Estate - are guaranteed to keep the midnight oil burning, no matter the crowd. It's with this reputation that Ovum Recordings welcomes the passionate producer to it's ever-swelling ranks.

Yotam's debut for Ovum Recordings is of the same quality and ilk that weve come to expect. The title track's original mix is proud and uptight, bursting in with a clipped but swollen kick drum, fat around the edges and deep in it's descent, before a vocal snippet chimes in through a mesh of bass gradually stomping its way into earshot with a gentle canter before those bass tones become a full on wobble and the driving rhythm to the track is notched up on the break, mixing Yotam's trademark uplifting house with galvanized, toughened techno beats. 

On the remix we welcome the Dutch bastion of techno Mr. Steve Rachmad, who delivers a superb rework under his darker and deeper Sterac alias. Jacking, rolling and pumping, his remix focuses on the filters. Dry flanges, acid stabs and filtered analogue synths sit atop a frenetic hi hat for a bass-less but high impact smasher. 

Closing the EP is the intriguingly titled Bbbooy Skat, that runs with a hypnotic, wavering acid synth lines and muted, clipped kick drums - reminiscent of his live looping techniques when Djing - before igniting into progressively building techno roller, adding elements of percussion atmosphere and melody, never once shifting focus from that hypno-top line. A subdued but effective midnight roller that offers an endless conclusion to another triumphant set from the Ovum Recordings crew.
