ROBO BASS HiFi  lives and breathes a tight combination of jungle, dub,  dubstep – SPACE and irregular POP.  His current electro-reggae drenched in BASS MUSIC  is mighty in all its facets and incessantly feeds the mind of the universe! 

From roots and DUB to dubstep/drumstep through to future jungle, UK-DIGITAL and D'n'B  -  Robo Bass Hifi loves tinkering with sounds and rhythms to create something that not everyone can handle, but which us folks on the Echo Beach love more than anything else: BAAASSS.

His debut “16 Bit Skanks“ on Select Cuts was received by the local press with reviews that ranged from enthusiastic to tepid to non-existent ... here are a few quotes:

Markus Kammann aka ROBO BASS HIFI stringently sticks to his path. After submitting remixes to the three musketeers of German pop (SEEED, FETTES BROT, JAN DELAY), all of which were rejected (the murmured rejections from the musketeers ranged from dulcet tones to absolute silence…!) he has now led the reggae legend into the dark room and has shaken things up. David Lynch and Ari Up bring a breath of Jean Michel Jarre pop and captivate the master of the deep, thick bass.
Previously, Dubblestandart recorded the originals on RETURN FROM PLANET DUB with Master Lee Perry  and now ROBO BASS HIFI has taken them to a deeper level...!

Singer Daphne BlueBird delivers an emotive and heartfelt rendition of this deep & rootsy 'Lovers Rock' obscurity. Originally recorded by the Love Joys at the infamous 'Bullwackies Studio' in Brooklyn NY, and featured on their 1983 LP "Lovers Rock Reggae".
Producer Nick Manasseh reworks the rhythm track in fine style. His contemporary and sophisticated production sound compliment the tracks organic feel and live instrumentation. Cascading delays, sweeping phaser sounds and saturated reverb hits paying homage to the tracks origins, and trademark 'Wackies' sound. Manasseh turns up the the FX to eleven on the heavyweight dubwise version!
Daphne BlueBird Biography:
Daphne BlueBird is a diverse female vocalist and songwriter in London. Her projects include collaborations with DJs and producers of many musical genres. The reggae, dub and dancehall scene is very close to her musical choices and she will always include them in her plans. She is also the lead singer and songwriter of the two-member band AuXdience, with the other member being Crowd Of One aka D. Christopoulos.

Double Trouble

In October 2014, Lincoln Valentine Style Scott was murdered in his house in Manchester, Jamaica. He was 58 years old. At that tim he had just finished his work on “Hard Food”, the first album released by his Dub Syndicate since “No Bed of Roses” in 2004. Dub Syndicate’s first studio album for eleven years, an event that was to be a joyous celebration with friends, has now become Style Scott’s legacy.

NOW, exactly one year after his death – the new dub scene of Europe will tribute to this legendary drummer. The trademarking song “DUB IS ALL I GOT” will appear in 14 different version and excursion as a kind of REMIX Clash. A fascinating and splending bass experience and in the very sensitive way the remixers and admirers paid tribute for is more than excellent…!

With Style Scott the reggae world, and indeed the entire world, has lost one of its best drummers. His unexpected, tragic death is devastating for his friends and family, to whom we express our deepest sympathy. At the same time, Style’s music – both sounds and lyrics – reveal that his life was rich in warmth and harmony. His death has made our lives poorer.
