Over the past couple of years Moscow's Dub & Jungle production trio @championsoundrussia has earned recognition among junglists around the world. The trio has firmly established itself mostly in 160 / 170 bpm territory with its signature jungle & halftime dubby / dubwise stylee, which has secured releases on a such labels as Dub Communication, Through These Eyes Records, Defrostatica Records, Unchained Recordings and Kniteforce Records.

However, the band's sound is not limited to jungle & drum'n'bass. On this release, Champions demonstrate remarkable skills in 140 bpm territory. On the three tracks three facets of dubstep sound are presented. We've got a proper skanker "Scoop", a ruffneck stomper "Ah Yuh Hear Mi", and a more deep and mellow "Likkle Love". All three tracks work perfectly on the soundsystem and already have tuff dubplate rotation among the scene tastemakers.

This release is another level for the trio and a proof of growth of the independent Russian bass scene. We salute Champion Sound and all those who feel the vibes on this EP!

We are happy to announce that on February 17th the 3rd part of our annual Ultimate Campilation will appear on all streamings platforms, Junodownload & Beatport. In anticipation of the release, we share with you one of the most dangerous tracks from the compilation. 

This is the anthem without a doubt. A catchy vocal sample creates a headnod while the dynamic beat rocks the body and the sub bass sets the accents. The tune has already made some buzz among dubstep heads. Another banger from @head_space! 

The track is exclusively available at our bandcamp, and on February 7th the entire compilation will be exclusively available at our bandcamp.

Ultimate Campilation Vol. 3 is the next part of the compilation from DUB.RAW, which presents a solid cut of bass music from Russian-speaking artists. It includes both established and up-and-coming producers, as well as musicians, who have just decided to enter the scene. The compilation covers different facets of bass music from reggae, dub to rap, UK garage, breakbeat, jungle, drum & bass, dubstep and dub techno - which music researchers combine into the hardcore continuum phenomenon. 

The compilation takes its name from the annual Russian open air soundsystem festival - DUB.RAW Camp (cAmpilation) - since the idea of ​​​​creating the collection was born at the camp in 2018. Many members of the compilation took part in camps and other events organized by DUB.RAW. Therefore, it is not surprising that some of the presented tracks are somehow connected with the activity of the label. Traditionally, at the end of the compilation you will hear a few dubplates, which rock our dances in recent years.

It started on 20th of April, 2020, when Black Barrel turned into Leo Cap to burst onto dubstep scene with the first 140 bpm release - "Lost In Rave" EP on Dub Raw label. Over the two years Leo has earned massive recognition as a talented producer with original style. His punchy, dynamic and brash (as befits a real leopard) sound has earned him a spot on the charts and lineups around the world. Releases on a labels like "Navy Cut", "4NC¥", "Wheel & Deal", "Deep, Dark & Dangerous" say it better than any words.

Since 2020, it's became a good tradition - to release fresh stuff from Leo Cap on the home label every 4/20.

This year the producer delivers us two dark, deep tunes - "Music" and "No Position". Both tunes are full of mystic, tribal vibes. However his signature pushy and heavy flow is in the right place as always. The release will satisfy those who dig deeper side of 140 sound and, no doubt, will please connoisseurs of this fascet of Leo's production (if you ain't familiar with it then you should defo also check tunes "Desert Viper", "Lost In Rave" and "Sleepers"). Catch a new arrival in the "Riddim Chronics" mix series! This time behind the 1's & 2's man like @liquidmuse1. Petya is a selector from Moscow, an adherent of a sound system, vinyl collector and a member of Rudeboy Promotions (https://instagram.com/rudeboypromotions) and dubstartup (https://instagram.com/dubstartup).

Petya began his musical path with a liquid funk drum & bass. The key role in the formation of the young selector played parties in the late 00s in the "69 BIS bar" in the center of Moscow. The main impression of that time is the selection and dj skills of Max Coca J in his podcasts Bassy Slumbers. In 2013 Petya began to actively promote Intelligent drum & bass as part of Ramcast podcasts. Since 2018, he has been a resident of Rudeboy Promotions.

Today's mix is Petya's performance on January 2 at the Jahra Corporation session(Almaty). On the air, the vinyl breed from roots, early dancehall, dub and modern steppers. The mix is served in an authentic fashion: original tune, dub siren, version and chanting by @borizlah. Run it, selector!

Свой путь в диджеинге Xyden начал с UKG / bass house и далее благодаря знакомству с G42 стал погружаться глубже в бас ориентированную музыку. Отправной точкой увлечения дабстепом стала вечеринка в лесу, которая предопределила дальнейшую специализацию. 

Влад организовывает сессии CHADUB / Чадаб, где вибрации баса, пропитанного дабом, переплетаются с чайной магией. Микс записан вживую в декабре 2022-го на 10-й юбилейной сессии CHADUB и вобрал в себя стафф, полюбившийся автору в течение 2022-го. Селекшн органично простирается от медитативного и мелодичного звучания к более глубокому и напористому. Заканчивается микс гимном Nikola Ai "Корни", который "собственно и подтолкнул меня год назад на эту чайно-дабовую затею".

Xyden began his DJing journey with UKG / bass house and went deeper into bass oriented music through his introduction to the G42. The starting point of his passion for dubstep was a party in the forest, which predetermined his further specialization.

Vlad organizes CHADUB sessions, where dub-soaked bass vibrations are flavoured with tea magic. The mix was recorded live in December 2022 at the 10th anniversary session of CHADUB and included the stuff that the author loved during 2022. The selection organically extends from a meditative and organic sound to a deeper and more assertive one. The mix ends with Nikola Ai's anthem "Корни", which "actually pushed me to this tea-dub venture a year ago."

Xyden x Riddim Chronics (CHADUB 10th Anniversary live mix)

В эфире новый эпизод в серии миксов «Хроники Риддима». Напомним, что серия посвящена граням бас музыки с корнями в регги. В рамках серии наши гости пишут свою хронику, самостоятельно выбирая эпоху и грань баса, которые они хотят раскрыть в миксе.

Сегодня за пультом Виталик Dubree @dubree(читается Дабри́) из наукограда Черноголовка (Московская обл.). Наше знакомство началось в конце 2000-х через музыку таких отечественных регги исполнителей как Bookah, Prophet P, Amarula, Afro D (RIP), в которой Виталик отметился отменным продакшеном в стиле digital reggae, steppers и dubstep. Вместе с тем кругозор Dubree простирается намного дальше ямайской музыкальной традиции: на просторах сети вы найдете его миксы в жанрах ambient, jazzy hip-hop и house, а также музыку собственного сочинения в различных жанрах. Отдельно отметим проект OpenPoetry (современная поэзия и атмосферная электроника), микс-посвящение из музыки Сергея Lazzich (RIP), роскошный ремикс на трек Lars Leonhard "Olearia" и самобытный тюн "Northern Dancehall" c нашей последней Ultimate Campilation Vol. 3.

Возвращаемся к сегодняшнему миксу. 

Dubree сделал ривайнд на полвека и записал виниловый спешл из классического даба 70-х: "В миксе тот самый золотой вайб, который повлиял на развитие электронной музыки и потряс лично меня. Да так, что я создал net-лейбл "Sub Out Dub In", на котором мы с единомышленниками в 2007-2010 годах выпускали музыку на стыке даба и экспериментальной электроники, писали подкасты и проводили вечеринки. Каталог лейбла – это небольшой, но всё же очень вкусный кусочек истории даб-музыки в России. Важно, что многие мои знакомства того времени с людьми из регги и бэйс сцены переросли в дружбу, так что можно уверенно сказать – даб объединяет!"

Dubree x Riddim Chronics (1970's dub special)

Продолжаем открывать грани баса, пропитанного дабом, в рамках серии миксов «Хроники Риддима». Сегодня за пультом JIPIE (читается Джипи) @jipie-aka-shitonshoes.  

Свой музыкальный путь Андрей начал с хип-хопа в начале 90-х в "черноморской Сицилии" - Новороссийске. Со временем он увлёкся ломаной электроникой – jungle, breakbeat, breaks, big beat, trip hop. В юношеском возрасте JIPIE засел за Fruity Loops (программа для написания музыки) и с тех пор понеслось. Среди тех, кто читал под его биты, Рем Дигга, Эйсик, Скато, UMR CRU и Алкоголь После Спорта. Помимо продакшена JIPIE отметился яркими куплетами в совместных треках с Рем Диггой, Эйсиком и UMR CRU. После периода создания хип-хопа на сэмплах Андрей полностью переключился на синтезирование собственных звуков, стал экспериментировать с голосом и подачей, выйдя за границы жанра. Теперь это не только рифмы, но и оригинальная, эмоционально насыщенная игра голосом на распев. Так в его в творчестве появилась новая глава, которую он пишет прямо сейчас. Последние годы JIPIE совместно с геленджикским тяжеловесом @thekercha работают над проектом ВРСПЛ (В Рэпе С Пяти Лет), где органично переплетаются электроника всех мастей, хип-хоп и уличный блюз. В этом году на Dub Raw выйдет альбом ВРСПЛ. 

Для «Хроники Риддима» JIPIE приготовил dub techno микс. Медитативный, местами меланхоличный и бездонный как ночное небо. Автор раскрывает жанр с разных сторон: от корневой дабовой к более ритмичной техновой, рассыпаясь в пути через эхо и реверберацию на отдельные психоакустические звуки. Этот микс для погружений, поиска себя и смыслов. Музыкальная психоделика от даба и техно высшей пробы.

Outselect x Riddim Chronics (UK Bass & Breaks special)

This is a compilation of a wide spectrum of bass music from artists of Russia & Ukraine who've taken part in the activity of DUB'RAW - South Russian soundsystem community. 

The idea of creating this compilation was born in June 2018 at the DUB'RAW Camp (annual summer soundsystem weekend at the Black Sea coast). As the story goes, when a few artists created original tracks during the DUB'RAW Camp we decided we have to give further life to such strong and creative vibes in one entire compilation. That's why we named this compilation the "Campilation" as a tribute to this memorable camp. Then we asked affiliated artists to create music which would be inspired by the DUB'RAW and DUB'RAW Camp particularly (some of them gave us prepared but not published and unsigned tracks). 

Finally we’ve compiled a list of some of Russia's/Ukraine's most exciting bass producers and mc's / singjays - both emerging and established, across all spectrums of bass music which we’ve loved listening live over the past years on DUB'RAW events. It's remarkable that a large part of involved artists are presenting South Russia, where DUB'RAW got it's roots. Musically most of the tracks represent different sides of bass music though all of them are united by solid rhythm, weighty bass and soundsystem esthetic.   

The last four tracks are something special for us. These're our dubplates (versions of original tracks (with reconstructed riddims to be exact) which are recorded specially for particular soundsystem to praise it) with lyrics from remarkable vocalists on the Russian reggae scene - Tenor Youthman, Prophet P & Neekeetone and gifted South Russian mc Toshi TAK-TO

We are proud to present some of the best contemporary bass music in Russia/Ukraine to both local and international audiences and collectors. We give thanks and respect to all who were involved in creating this piece of art. Hope you enjoy!

On our 7th release we are proud to represent to the world young gifted producer hailing from Perm (Russia) by the name of Ninety (@ninetyxxxxxxxxx). From his very first "Ambi EP" in the beginning of 2020 on the Moscow based label UNITED (@united_gang) it became clear that a new talent appeared on the dubstep scene, which will bring a lot of joy to connoisseurs of the genre.

On four tracks of the "Shaker EP" artist demonstrates the versatility of his sound and the extraordinary ability to create a deep, mystic atmosphere. The EP starts with a trippy sound of the "Moon Sand" which envelopes you with a sci-fi and drone sounds skillfully combined with melodic strings and synths. The track hypnotically pulls you like a quicksand into the wilds of the underworld. On the "Knife Dance" unleashed bass doing his dance ting until pitched heavy synth stabs builds their own lead line. The title track sounds like it should - an earthquake with a seething bass with enough space for a skankers. The closing tune "Ghasty" endows you with a catchy melody that sticks for a long time. The artist's talent to develop the tracks worth mentioning separately - the second drop on each track of the EP opens up a new depth and edges of the sound. With this release, Ninety is confidently ending 2020 as one of the most promising newcomers to the dubstep scene.

Dub Raw /dʌb rɔː/ — crew, community and a label from Russia. We cultivate soundsystem culture since 2011. We bring the idea and the heritage of soundsystem music through different tempos and genres. From roots reggae to the front edge of bass music with a dub inna di heart. From dances & raves in clubs, venues and abandoned factories around the country to the famous Dub Raw camp, which annually gathers prominent representatives of the Russian independent bass scene and bass lovers from all over the country. As a label, our mission is to represent a local scene and share our passion for music.
