Merging Croatian traditional music with modern psychedelic chill/dub/glitch, "Horns of Veles" compilation guides us through different centuries and regions of Croatia via sound and ambience. For this unique occasion, local artists who have a way of building pathways throughout webs of time are carefully selected. They expressed that sweet spot of connection between traditional and modern through a visionary re-envisioning of ancient songs, sung just for this compilation.

Veles is a major Slavic god of earth, waters, livestock and the underworld. His attributes are wet, wooly, hairy (bearded), dark and with horns. He is associated with cattle, the harvest, wealth, music, magic, and trickery. He has a role in the carnival customs of Koledari shamans and as protector of travelling musicians. In some wedding ceremonies in northern Croatia, the music would not start playing unless the bridegroom, when making a toast, spilled some of the wine on the ground. The symbolism of this is clear: the musicians will not sing until a toast is made to their patron deity.

Here we are again ....
It is Saturday and here is my new Ecstatic Dance Upload as promised, this comes after a few weeks of break as I was touring Europe through various Festivals!! .. (see latest downloads)

This one is N. 14 played @ One Tribe Festival - Koh Phangan on 08/02/2020 and still during the period on which we were pretty much flexible on the duration of the Journeys! ... Hence its length! :)

Short after the Festival we entered the Covid Lockdown.

In the past years I have been hosted, facilitated and held countless Ecstatic Dance Journeys ....

I started my Ecstatic Dance Journey in 2008 at the very beginning of the now famous Yoga Barn in Bali, then in 2016 I gave birth to the Sunday Mornings Dances at Pyramid Yoga in Koh Phangan and the Evening Friday dances in Jaran's.
Consistently started to record my sets (or almost) only in 2017/18.

I will try now to upload one every Saturday starting from those days ...... raw as they are (as I do not even re listen to them before uploading them!!)

Follow me in my Ecstatic Journey and let's see where we will end up ....
(to date ...with one set every week we will have more then 2 years to explore in front of us!)

Sandesh - The Ecstatic Journey n.14 @ One Tribe Festival

This is the recording of the extemporary set I played on 15/11/22 for the event "TRIP ADVISORS" that i put together to offer Golan BAYAWAKA a chance to play and bring his sound to the island of Koh Phangan.

When he called me telling me he was coming I immediately did my best to organise an evening for him.
In a island deeply invaded by house, techno and commercial sound I am trying hard to bring some new alternative vibe in.

I started with this 2 hrs set to then leave him the lead for a 3 hrs set.
Despite the weather the event turned out nicely and everybody who was there enjoyed a lot and appreciated the music up to the point that I hope to continue this event once on a monthly schedule!
Finger crossed.
