Thru the "Sawtuha" project and Blitz The Ambassador playing quite some shows in Morocco I've had the pleasure to travel North Africa quite frequently lately and whenever possible I did some record shopping. This is a selection of some of the finds, music from the 60s and 70s from Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. Some known some not yet. 

This is also a kick off to a new loose series of mixes by us, people we work with or people we are just friends with. Enjoy.

fadaul is maybe our fav discovery from traveling north africa. his raw and energetic recordings are pretty stand alone in the arab world. we have invested quite some time into research but we were not able to find too much infos about this guy. a mystical figure.

TrueMasterz & Da Shogunz - City Lightz

Long story short - I wasn't happy with the track I managed to make during ROB competition, so I decided to make the new one. 🤷‍♂️

During this competition we (10 producers) had to make a track from a provided sample pack of 15 various sounds by using at least 8 of them in 2 hours).

Probably it was not my day or something, because track I made was really shit 💩 so now I decided to make another track from that sample pack - just for fun and just to prove myself that I am able to compose something more listenable from that same material.

I turned on my old trusty MPC 1000, made a backbone of the beat, tracked it out to Ableton Live just to mess with arrangement more, added some transition FX's (designed from given samples)and voila!

Used 8 or 9 samples from the sample pack. Only sounds not from sample pack are the drums. And it took me more than 2 hours to finish this one :D Probably it means that I need to work more on my time management skills :D

Anyways, despite my personal failure the competition was really fun, many dope producers, really good vibes etc etc.
