June 19th sees the celebrated UK-based DJ/producer Alexis Raphael release his debut EP on Mar-T’s prestigious Wow! Recordings entitled, ‘Breaking Walls Like 1989’.

This essential four-track release follows Alexis’ previous outings on revered labels such as Resonance Records, Lower East, ElRow Music, Culprit, Leftroom, Get Physical and not forgetting his anthem, 'I know', on Hot Creations, with almost 2 million YouTube views.

The EP’s title track, ‘Breaking Walls Like 1989’, kicks things off, encompassing a tight Tech House rhythm, a funky bassline, looped-up vocal samples and a tried and tested arrangement.

‘Loaded Up’ follows on, offering up more of a Jackin’ House groove than its forerunner, boasting a distorted and manipulated acidline, a Drum-and-Bass-esque vocal sample and a powerful bass frequencies.

Next up, the rising Barcelona/Ibiza-based DJ/producer CAAL delivers as tasty re-rub of ‘Loaded Up’, opting to incorporate the original’s acidline and vocal sample over a classic four-to-the-floor House groove with a deep and moody bassline.

‘Nightflight’ follows and concludes the EP in suitable style, serving up a lively Jackin’ House workout, boasting a plethora of old skool vocal snippets and a unique animal-esque sample/noise.
 ‘Breaking Walls Like 1989’ EP is available exclusively via Beatport on June 19th and everywhere else two weeks later.

Renowned crate digger, respected producer and talented DJ, Chris Read has been releasing and compiling music on BBE for some years, both as a solo artist and with electronic soul outfit Maylight. Created alongside Chicago rapper and vocalist Pugs Atomz, 'Colours Of The World', started life when the latter was in London recording and touring with BBE label- mate and mutual friend DJ Vadim's group The Electric. Next up on the docket for Acid Camp Records is a record created by duo John Tejada and Justin Maxwell. The pair came together to make ACR III with two things in mind: Creating sounds that put a smile on their face while possessing as much character as possible. 

The opening track, “I’ve Got Acid (On My Brain)” is a mind-bending wavetable freakout, the likes of which Tejada and Maxwell have been striving to do for years. Using a vintage EMS vocoder to create an original vocal sample, this track is bright, playful, & vivacious. “The Name Rolls In” is layered in an acid playground of sounds. A rhythmic track with a potent 303 bass line, prominent percussion, and that infamous vocoder back at it to create a distinctly groovy track. “Field Notes”, is a composition of celestial arrangements that is completely beatless. Carried through by tiers of sounds, filters, and noisier elements, this track lulls the listener into an alluring sonic dreamscape.
