Do you remember the first time you closed your eyes and really opened your ears and felt yourself being pulled under the music, pouring over the drop, only to be tossed among the wubs and wobbles? 

Since its inception, electronic music has stood apart in the music world for its willingness to push the limits of musical experimentation and innovation. Nothing is more rebellious, more punk rock, than the courage to throw the rulebook out the window, step into uncharted territory, and play by ear. Few moments in music history epitomize this revolutionary spirit as perfectly as the rise and domination of dubstep.

The early 2010s changed the sound of not only electronic music and dance music, but of everything from pop music to experimental acts. Dubstep had arrived, and its impact was undeniable. Now we can look back on that pivotal moment with a knowledge and a nostalgia that only time can forge.

Mendum’s newest release, “Tell Me Why”, is at once a heart-wrenching plea, a celebration of sweaty nights in the club remembered only dreamily, and a brief lesson in the evolution of dubstep over this last decade. My name's Ryan Allen, 21, and I'm here to upload all the best of my lovely works of shit.  I've been creating electronic music since I started working on my first upload on here, my Get Sexy remix.  I'm very much against the use of loops and samples that others have created and simply jamming them together and calling it an original piece.  I didn't want to learn that way and I made sure I didn't.  To me, it's a huge joke and the song ends up sounding all wrong.  I make all my sounds myself, usually using something like Operator in Ableton or sometimes just messing with parameters in Massive -though I can't truly call that my own sound, exactly, and I usually like using Operator as I can have full control over the sound I get.  Usually, the only sounds you will hear from me that I did not create may be something like a couple kicks or claps as I'm not always able to make something that sounds good and can't seam to find anything to help me that doesn't include layering samples (if you do know of such a tutorial or whatever, please feel free to share with me and I will love you forever, like you have no idea).  I also write all that you hear from me, as well (unless otherwise stated; such as the vocals in my Get Sexy remix and in I Don't Give A Fuck, those I had no part in creating).  I have taken two courses in highschool on electronic music composition and, sadly, that is near all I have to back myself up with.  I do know how to create simple chords and although I don't fully remember chord progression, I do have an the idea in my head as I write my pieces.  Out of key notes and bad chords irk me terribly and I can pick them up instantly, usually (not saying that I catch them 100% of the time).  You'll find me uploading songs of many different genres.  I'm far from bias against or for any genre.  I can enjoy anything, so long as it was well produced and isn't full of wrong notes and such.  However, I can usually be found listening to electro, house, or dubstep most of the time.

Apart from music, I also love to do 3D Modeling, skateboarding (and longboarding), wakeboarding, scuba diving, fishing, and plenty of other random things here and there and also hoping to get into some other stuff like snowboarding, surfing, and freeride mountain biking in the near future.

Also, just for the record, I'm a MtF (male to female) transsexual, pre-opp.  That shouldn't be a problem, though.
