Dizem que o Brasil é o irmão mais novo da África. Por uma questão histórica é realmente impressionante ver como as raízes africanas estão presentes em praticamente todos os lugares da cultura popular brasileira. Ao longo de 5 séculos de história essas raízes evoluiram se misturando com outras culturas e influências, como o Catolicismo e Espiritismo (dos colonizadores europeus), a tradição dos Orixás africanos (dos escravos) e espíritos de origem indígena (dos nativos da terra) dando origem a Umbanda, considerada a única "religião verdadeiramente brasileira".

Este é um trabalho de pesquisa e vivência em forma de mixtape, inspirado pelos batuques e o sincretismo religioso, cultural e musical afro-brasileiro. Músicas de cura, louvor, ancestralidade e invocação. Música para abrir caminhos.

They say Brazil is Africa's younger brother. As a historical matter, it is truly amazing to see how African roots are present in virtually every corner of Brazilian popular culture. Over the course of 5 centuries of history these roots have evolved mingling with other cultures and influences such as Catholicism and Spiritism (the European settlers), the tradition of the African Orixas (the slaves) and spirits of indigenous origin (the natives of the land) giving rise to UMBANDA, considered the only "truly Brazilian religion".

This is a work of research and experience in the form of mixtape, inspired by the batuques and the Afro-Brazilian religious, cultural and musical syncretism. Songs of roots, healing, praise and invocation to open the paths of dark spirits.

DJ Primo era 'o cara'.  E mesmo que voce nao gostasse do seu estilo, ele chegava na festa e fazia tudo o que voce pensou em fazer, muito melhor do que voce faria (ele fez isso comigo muitas vezes). Fazia nao porque se achava mais do que os outros. Fazia simplesmente porque ele tinha o dom. Fazia porque amava a musica. Primo tinha 'love for the game', como diz uma de suas musicas favoritas - coisa rara nos dias de hoje. Foi isso que fez dele um dos melhores nesse jogo.

Esse set foi gravado em 4 pick ups no dia 2 de Setembro de 2008 na CHOCOLATE, festa em que fomos residentes juntos desde 2002. Essa foi tambem a ultima vez que eu vi o Primo e que tocamos juntos.
Me lembro de cada virada, de cada corte, de como ele era perfeccionista e ficava puto quando alguma coisa nao saia como ele queria, de como a cada set ele se superava e puxava o nivel sempre pra cima. Tocar com o Primo me fez um DJ melhor. Me fez uma pessoa melhor.

Essa é uma homenagem a memoria de um amigo e um dos maiores DJs que ja habitou este Planeta. Nunca se esqueçam disso.

Muito Obrigado, Alexandre.  Foi uma honra.

Dubstrong is not a one style DJ. Who chooses his dancefloor goes on a journey through hip hop, funk, soul, brazil, breaks & beats, all tied by a strong influence of Jamaican dub and dancehall. It's a real trip over the latest trends in music or it's roots, which Dubstrong wishes to maintain.

Resident DJ at Sao Paulo's finest clubs Dubstrong has become one of the most sought after DJs in the country, his good entry with the public led him to be precise reference in the main events of its kind in Brazil. Fact is that the DJ was responsible for opening presentations of key icons of music such as Public Enemy, Snoop Doggy Dog, De La Soul, DJ Shadow, Massive Attack, DJ Z-Trip, Bomb The Bass, Kruder & Dormeister, DJ A-Trak, Kid Loco, Mad Professor, U-Roy, The Wailers among others. 

In the years of 2010 and 2013 Dubstrong was the winner of Sao Paulo's edition of  'Red Bull Thre3Style' World DJ Championships.

Before that, in 2001, Dubstrong joined the line-up of the first 'Ecosystem' festival organized by DJ Soul Slinger that shook Amazonian lands with many international guests. Even outside of Sao Paulo, showed his work in Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Camburiu, Blumenau, Belo Horizonte, Campo Grande, Manaus, Salvador, Goiania, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Campos do Jordao, as well as presentations in clubs in Los Angeles (Low End Theory) and New York, always at large events and they had in their sights biggest names in national and international scene.

Resident DJ at the prestigious 'Chocolate' party since 2002, Dubstrong joins his partners DJs Zegon, Nuts, Primo (rip) and King to bring the public quality music and receive at their parties starry international names like Cut Chemist, Madlib, Wildchild, Busy P, DJ Roc Raida, DJ Nu-mark (Jurassic 5), DJ Revolution, Maseo (De La Soul), Mayer Hawthorne, DJ Neil Armstrong (Jay-Z), J-Live, Boogie Blind, The Alchemist, DJ Green Lantern, Mixed Sinista (X-Ecutioners) the Beat Junkies J.Rocc, Babu and Shortkut.

Dubstrong is also founder of Echo Sound System, a brazilian collective sound system who releases an critic aclaimed album "Tempo Vai Dizer' in 2004.
