This time we teamed up with two great upcoming talents from the new era of Digital / Rub a Dub reggae; we are talking about the young producer from Devon (UK), Interrupt and the new Spanish phenomenon Ponchita Peligros.

This EP is composed of six tracks, two vocal cuts with the sweet melodic voice of Ponchita accompanied by Interrupt’s riddims plus two remixes of Cutty Ranbs and Michael Prophet feat Ricky Tuffy by Interrupt.

Interrupt has been producing Reggae since 2012. Inspired by the digital Reggae style of the late 1980s where his obsessions inspired him to start creating his own riddims using a CZ-101 keyboard, making his own remixes of popular reggae tunes. In 2013 he released his first EP with Spanish singer George Palmer in a Rubadub Style, which proved to be a big success, promoting both artists and paving the way for many more collaborations and musical endeavours. Upbeat vibes, old-school drum machines, bold bass lines and colourful synthesisers are what define Interrupt’s unique production style.

Ponchita Peligros is a Spanish rub a dub DJ/MC that has turned out as one of the biggest artists of her country. Her style is characterised by her sweet voice and her fun and creative DJ style that brings us back to the 1980s. After releasing her first solo album playing sax and singing in 2008, Ponchita has focused on singing Rub-a-dub in Soundsystem dances and has been collaborating with sounds and producers from all over the world. In June 2014 Scotch Bonnet Records released her first 7" vinyl and after a complete sell-out Ponchita and Stalawa came back again last December with a second 7" release made for the Rub a Dub lovers all over the world ina "Different Style.

A relic of the track “The Model” by Kraftwerk is on the heart of this riddim where Dougie creates an unique and “killer” digital Reggae with electro influenced style. There is not much to say regarding the deadly combination on the vocals by King General and Pupa Jim, simply amazing. 

Side A features two tracks, vocal and riddim, where on Side B features the Dub version. 
The artwork is once again done by our fellow friend Gil Nunes who created a unique and “trippy” optical illusion.

We are very happy to announce the latest Cubiculo release featuring certified legend Tonto Irie and new generation production duo Naram and Art!

After years without releasing any records, veteran MC Tonto Irie returns to the world of vinyl with ‘No Friend Fi Dem’. Under the name of Tonto Ranking, he partnered with Danny Dread in the 80’s and the two of them spearheaded the rise of the Black Star Soundsystem. Tonto Irie would later help King Jammy’s set reach new heights by working with all of Jammy’s Posse including Wayne Smith, John Wayne, Chacka Demus, Half Pint, Admiral Bailey, Tullo Tand and many more.

We became instant fans of Naram and Art the first time we heard their music. Since then we’ve had the pleasure of having them on Subactive’s “Taking Over EP” with a killer remix and now we’re finally releasing a record with them. ‘Ripper Riddim’ is inspired by the obscure digital reggae music of the 80’s, where fat, dirty basslines and heavy skanks are the main dish of the day. 

The record’s artwork is also inspired by this era of Reggae music and the first 500 people to order it will get the limited edition, green coloured vinyl!

Straight outta Brazil comes this killer digikal mixtape by Selector Daddy from Jah Daddy Downbeat Soundsystem, fulfilled with pure gems, dub plates and obscures 80s tunes. 

We had the pleasure to live in Brazil 11 years ago and it’s so good to see how the culture and evolved and grown in to such a big movement full of sound systems, selectors, singers, mc’s, pre-amp builders and now even a soundsystem ran just by women! Feminine Hi-Fi, hope to see similar project in Europe soon.
