Despite my love for Intelligent Drum and Bass that can be found in the majority of mixes here on my Mixcloud profile the foundation for the music I love now started back in the rave days from late days of 91 onwards with the Old Skool Hardcore that was playing back then which eventually became jungle techno in 92 and 93 and early jungle in 94.

It struck me that I haven't played a set of these sort of sounds in quite a while so here is a quick 1 hour mix of those styles.

Mixed on 2 x Vestax-PDXa1 turntables with vinyl and Traktor Scratch Control Vinyl with Traktor Audio 8 DVS plus Numark M4 mixer. Recorded via line-in. 320kbps Stereo MP3.

Mix features Old Skool Hardcore sounds from After Dark (Dave Charlesworth), Harmony and Xtreme, Manix and MC Lethal, Jungle Techno sounds from Ellis Dee & Swanee, Kid Twist & DJ Phantasy, Ron Wells (under his RonWellsJS alias) and early jungle sounds from C.Biz (Bizzy B), Cloud 9 (Nookie) and Skanna.

In proper 93 style, you'll hear spooky darkness jungle tekno, jungle, hardcore, dracula and feelings of walking through a cemetery on Halloween. It took a bit more time and effort than I'd planned for a FREE release. Please like, share and comment on anything.
I'm so grateful for the number of new skool producers who are creating quality old skool 93/94/95/96 sounding tunes. Halloween gives me the excuse to play sinister silly darkside/darcore/jungletekno tunes that I've been collecting for years.
My 2016 mix, from California now, not Australia anymore. A bunch of tunes darkside, hardcore tunes I've been waiting to play for years. Big ups to Mark N from Bloody Fist. I purchased his first releases back in the day at Central Station Records in Sydney. I hadn't heard of Mark at that time, but meet him in earlier years to come. For me, this is more a even balance between my DJ Popeye dayz and Rikochet moving into jungle tekno.
