Ben Woods aka @bosqmusic was born on the coast of Massachusetts, a little Peninsula called Cape Cod, outside of Boston. In 2016 he moved his base to Medellin, Colombia, to immerse himself in the culture and sounds he so much adored.

Bosq’s has a new album coming out called “Love & Resistance” and is a collection of songs that reflect a producer’s continuing emergence by diving deeper into his influences. The strains of Afro and Latin flavours are interwoven and still heavily permeate but the underlying groove and rhythms have taken on a more modern, jazz-funk and disco-soul vibe with nods to Bobby Caldwell, Roy Ayers, the Mizell brothers and Nile Rodgers’Chic.

Our favourite cut off the LP, 'In Orbit' is a joyous piano funk stomper, full of soul and guaranteed to inject some sunshine & colour into your life when you hear it. A firm favourite in our sets right now!

Le nouvel EP "Cake", qui sortira le 18 mai 2018, est le fruit de la réunion inédite du duo de producteurs Nikitch et Kuna Maze. Formés tout d’abord à travers l’apprentissage de la musique classique, Nikitch étudie la flûte traversière et Kuna Maze la trompette. Nos deux musiciens s’ouvrent peu à peu à de nouveaux langages tels que le jazz et la musique électronique. Avec leurs récents albums solo, ils obtiennent le soutien d’artistes de renom tels que Gilles Peterson, Laurent Garnier, Lefto, 20Syl ou encore Grems (Nikitch a produit plusieurs titres de son dernier album Sans titre #7) et celui de médias de références français et internationaux (Fact, xlr8r, Mixmag, Solid Steel, Tsugi, Trax, Télérama ...). 
C'est animé de cette énergie qu'ils conçoivent leur nouvel opus dans une ambiance Jazz, House progressive & Chill-out . Les 5 morceaux qui composent "Cake" sont aussi le syncrétisme parfait de leurs deux univers, avec la richesse des couleurs du Jazz mêlées à l’énergie frénétique du Footwork de Nikitch combiné aux textures syntho - cosmiques granuleuses de Kuna Maze. Les titres s’équilibrent ensembles de façon très homogène procurant à l'écoute l'effet d'une douce symphonie joyeuse et chaleureuse. Le premier morceau 'Another One' nous convie à une Jam session chaude soufflant le calme d'une brise d'été tout de suite suivi du morceau liquide Downtempo 'Jazz & Shit'. Puis suit l'interlude très flottante 'Potheads' qui nous rappelle le meilleur du son de l'époque Stax. Le reveil Deep house soulful sonne avec 'Random Synth Jam #136' qui marque la fusion sonore totale des deux producteurs achevée par le titre final Glith-hop 'Sunday eggs', en clin d’œil à la scène L.A beat. L'oscillation entre Jazz, Downbeat et Hip Hop procure un éventail groove subtile, en offrant une texture acoustique Unplugged des plus intime et totalement irrésistible à l'écoute de "Cake".

Le Rubrique, who’s been at the forefront of Germany’s disco-house scene with his work behind the scenes with Sucio, is back with his new track “Pata Pata”, releasing on the latest volume (012) of the German Footjob label. Demonstrating his versatility with this addictive, well crafted, afro disco machine, Le Rubrique also utilizes pieces from oft-sampled afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

Le Rubrique, employs his signature disco-house sound on "Pata Pata", but in a fresh and striking way. The song is kicked off by an infectious drum fill which helps to drive the main beat, creating an irresistibly catchy groove. The percussion is quickly met by the introduction of a choppy warm rhodes melody, that when paired with the subtle shakers and crispy open hi-hats, give it the rawness and organic feel of a live show. Let's not forget the sampled vocals from the famous Fela composition, Upside Down, that really tie the whole piece together. Le Rubrique is normally known to mix his tracks to have somewhat of a softer vibe, but with this track's soaring brass hits and powerful drums, his versatility shines through. You can find Footjob's latest compilation including Le Rubrique's track "Pata Pata" here.

It’s rare to come across a debut album that delights and surprises in equal measure, but that’s exactly what you can expect from Human Call, the first full-length excursion from daydreaming dancefloor fusionists Earthboogie.
The East London-based duo of Izak Gray and Nicola Robinson has previous form when it comes to creating beautiful, funk-fuelled fusions of soundsystem-ready rhythms, humid instrumentation and intergalactic audio explorations. To date, they’ve released a pair of fine EPs on Leng, both of which did a splendid job in showcasing their unique musical vision.
Even so, this vision has never been clearer than it is on Human Call, a vibrant eight-track missive that fixes the sticky tropical cheeriness of African and South American dance music – be it Afro-disco, Afro-funk or samba – with a wide range of complimentary sounds, styles and influences, from spacey analogue electronics, sun-kissed Balearica and hazy West Coast jazz-rock, to chunky dub disco, snappy retro-futurist house and bouncy, dub-fuelled club workouts. Throughout, Gray and Robinson showcase an impressive level of musicianship, variously combining crunchy drum machine hits and dusty old synthesizers with razor-sharp electric and acoustic guitars, rich bass, cascading saxophone solos and hazy, life-affirming vocal harmonies.
The result is a string of memorable highlights, from the sticky tropical-house-meets-dub disco futurism of “Human Call” and fuzzy disco-funk righteousness of opener “Overground”, to the post-punk disco jauntiness of “Stargazing” and samba-infused dancefloor bliss of Nina Miranda collaboration “Silken Moon”.
