I was feeling frustrated after a weekend of coming up some musical ideas I was happy with, but was unable to get a good recording - probably because the ideas were not mature and I couldn't really play them yet. Then 15 minutes before I needed to set off to work on my bike, this guitar tune came to me - its close to pattens I have worked on for some time, so I put it down as a loop, then added 2 more guitar layers into the same phase (i.e. one mono track). I added a couple of minutes of the looping to the R20 recorder, then thought 'why not?' and recorded a stereo piano track to the R20. I took the SD card to work and mastered it over lunch - and I got to work on time. The mysteries of the creative process!
