The original version of this song was improvised by Doug Anderson, Ernie Barreto, and Bert Vaux at 2:09AM one night in 1989 in Bert Vaux's room on the ground floor of Linn House in Burton-Judson Court at the University of Chicago. Bert Vaux then assembled a slightly more coherent of a song-like structure in 1996, and Doug Anderson rerecorded the vocals and added sundry other bits to the 1996 version in 2009.
