Children of Magic - Teaser

Our first reference on Tikuna Trax could not come from a more fitting Artist.

Dukokar a native from the Amazons, has released consistently amazing works on our sister label Sure Player Recordings with great support from reputable artists and the stores alike.

Bringing a more spirtual angle to the music for our new baby label, Alisson (Dukokar) tells us a little about his first track produced for us titled Cabocio.


' Cabocio surfaced after an in depth look at the Indigenous way of life in the North eastern Amazon region of Brazil.

During the composition process I tried to resuscitate and find elements that are present in the day by day life of the Indigenous people like Vocals, Percussion and Dance styles.

The vocals used in the track originate from the Kapinawa region which use a strong vocal rhythm used in the past together with a special dance to flatten the ground of newly built mud huts.

The shakers used at the beginning of the track are made with the Brazilian instrument the Caxixi which is also used in the various drum processions and diverse Amazonian musical genres.

Cabocio is a mixture of emotions and sentiments that I experienced during my time and immersion with these beautiful people. An experience that made me connect to the real Brazil.'

Set gravado no Órbita Blue - Praia do Futuro em Fortaleza (CE). Um warm up de 3 horas no showcase da label de Londres (EN) Sure Player Recordings, divididas em dois sets. Nesse primeiro set experimentei alguns sons que tenho escutado durante minhas pesquisas, foi muito bom poder fazer esse set com o pé na areia.

Nesse segundo set trouxe tracks da SP Recordings, de amigos que conheci virtualmente durante a pandemia e da curadoria que faço na playlist "afrozônica". 

Deixo aqui meu agradecimento ao Órbita por nos receber tão bem, aos amigos que dividiram o palco comigo - Levi Lenz, Davi Fiuza e em especial Carlos Francisco responsável por todo esse grande evento.

Dukokar is a DJ and Producer that started his career in 2012 in the Brazilian zone of Parauapebas in the state of Pará located in northern Brazil traversed by the lower Amazon River. Infuenced by the native sounds of this Amazon region like Carimbó, Siriá, Samba, Cacete and Banguê (Amongst others) which have characteristics heavily influenced by drums and percussion. His artistic references are based on the indigenous and African cultures from the Amazon and his organic and percussive DJ sets and productions always manage to transmit this rhythmic art creating unexpected and engaging often spiritual sounds.
